Kendall And Kylie Jenner Responded To Claims That Their Clothing Brand Failed To Pay Factory Workers In Bangladesh

The sisters released a statement denying their brand has "any relationship" with the company accused of failing to pay garment suppliers and workers during the coronavirus crisis.

Kendall and Kylie Jenner have responded to claims that their joint clothing brand, Kendall + Kylie, has failed to pay factory workers in Bangladesh during the coronavirus crisis.

The claims originated in an article from Remake, a non-profit organisation against exploitation in fashion.

The claims in the article were then re-posted by the Diet Prada Instagram account, whose post went instantly viral and has now been deleted.

The post highlighted the fact that the GBG website listed Kendall and Kylie's company on the portfolio of brands they work with as proof of association. This has since been removed.

And Kendall and Kylie have now publicly addressed the accusations, denying their brand has "any relationship" with GBG and stating that it is in fact owned by a separate entity.

In a statement posted to the Kendall + Kylie brand account, the sisters wrote: "We would like to address the unfortunate and incorrect rumor that Global Brands Group owns the Kendall + Kylie brand and that we have neglected to pay factory workers in Bangladesh as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic."

"This is untrue," the statement went on. "The Kendall + Kylie brand is owned by 3072541 Canada Inc., not GBG. The brand has worked with CAA-GBG in the past in a sales and business development capacity only, but we do not currently have any relationship at all with GBG."

"We know these are trying times for the fashion industry and garment workers as a whole, and we continue to support all of our partners working in the factories who produce our products," they continued.

The statement concluded: "We manufacture in countries all over the world and have not received any concerns from the factories who produce our goods."

Kendall Jenner went on to like the post.
