Anna Wintour Revealed Her True Opinions About The Kardashians And They're Actually Kinda Interesting

"I cannot possibly understand or fathom living so much in the public eye, but obviously it works."

Anna Wintour and the Kardashians have a long and kinda complicated history.

In fact, you probably remember the outcry over her decision to put Kim Kardashian and Kanye West on the cover of Vogue back in 2014. Responding to the criticism at the time, Anna said the magazine would be boring if it only covered "tasteful" people.

Then there was the iconic moment when North West was seated next to Anna at Kanye West's fashion show in 2015, and proceeded to throw a tantrum throughout the whole thing.

However, Kendall Jenner has graced the cover of US Vogue multiple times now, and Anna seems friendly enough with the rest of the family whenever they're seen in public together.

So, when Anna was asked in a recent interview what she thinks about the Kardashians' fashion, her answers were ~interesting~ to say the least.

In fact, she started by dodging the question, instead saying that she "couldn't fathom" why people would choose to live their lives so publicly. She did, however, call Kris Jenner a "creative genius," so get ready to never hear the end of that.

Speaking to Vogue, Anna said: "You have to admire how they’ve created an empire through their personalities, and the creative genius of their mother. And how they live the way they do. I cannot possibly understand or fathom living so much in the public eye, but obviously it works."

Anna then went on to say that she thinks Kim is the family member who's experienced the biggest style evolution over time, adding that she appreciates how she's learned to dress "a little more covered."

She said: "Kim of all of them I feel has changed the most. I personally admire the way that she's become a little more minimal in the way she's dressing, and a little more covered."

Anna then said she has a lot of respect for the way Kendall Jenner has handled her career, which many fashion insiders didn't think would last.

Anna said: "Obviously the Kardashian that we've had the most experience with at Vogue is Kendall. People thought that she wouldn't last, and I personally give her a lot of credit for persevering through her highly successful modelling career. She's very open and very direct in the way she talks about how she just wants to be a model, that she enjoys being a model, that she's worked hard at it, and I hope she continues."

But she did conclude by saying that Kendall actually reminds her of the iconic '90s supermodel Linda Evangelista.

She said: "She reminds me in many ways of Linda Evangelista, who was always happy being a model. I think that maybe some of the other girls who came up at the same time wanted other careers — they wanted to be actresses or entrepreneurs or hosting TV shows, whereas Linda wanted to be a model and as a result was a gift to us all. And I see Kendall in very much the same way. It's just whether, with everything else that she's doing, she can keep up the pace."
