The Last Day of Jack Sparks by Jason Anropp, which starts off with *quite* the bang — an incredibly scary exorcism — and keeps throwing all kinds of twists at you.

I actually learned about this one from our list of viewer-recommended books that are actually scary! And dear readers, that it was!

HEX by Thomas Olde Heuvelt, a contemporary tome about a cursed town that's haunted by a witch who was executed there centuries ago. It's *too* real and perhaps you too will imagine the witch standing at the foot of your bed at 3 a.m. too?
