    1. A roll of very handy window screen repair tape, a temporary (or not so temporary) way to repair small cuts or tears in your screen door without having to replace the whole thing.

    amazon.com, amazon.com

Promising review: "This RHO screen repair tape is fabulous and simple to use! Just cut to size, pull off the clear protective film, and press onto the tear or hole in your screen. That's it! There are 15 feet on a roll and it couldn't be easier. I've patched my screened porch now in five to six spots and while the tape is visible, it prevents bugs from crawling through, which was my goal. If you don't have the time, money, or inclination to completely replace a screen, this is the perfect solution...and the fastest! Will buy again in a heartbeat if I run out of this roll." —sallywally

Get it from Amazon for $9.99+ (available in two colors).

    2. A simple to install TV wall mount that doesn't require any studs for installations — well besides you of course.

    Amazon

Promising review: "This product is extremely easy to install yourself on almost any type of wall because it distributes the weight so well. It works on drywall or plaster. I double checked the position by sliding the provided level across the wall and started by putting one nail in the center and then carefully at one end using the level. Once I was sure it was level, I carefully put in a half dozen more. You don’t need to use all of the nails provided! After I hung the TV I realized that one side seemed a little higher than the other and I took the TV off and realized I just needed to make sure the screws on the back of the TV were positioned properly." —Venona

Get it from Amazon for $22.44+ (available for TVs 18"-55").

    3. A bottle of drywall repair putty you apply in a small circular motion to get rid of those tiny holes in your walls before you paint.

A series of photos showing how to apply the drywall repair putty
    Amazon

Promising review: "Does exactly what it says. Rather than getting spackle, waiting for it to dry, sanding it down, and tweaking as needed — this cuts the time/effort down! Just rub over the place in need of patching and wipe off the excess. The hardest part is not accidentally getting the product on parts of the wall that don’t need it, but that’s easy to clean up, so it’s not a problem. I used this to patch holes in the wall from a former Wi-Fi router and modem, other than the color difference from the patch to the paint, you’d never know it was patched. Great price, easy to use." —Amanda

Get it from Amazon for $10.95.

    4. Or try this all-in-one 3M hole repair applicator that lets you apply, smooth, and sand down the spackle without needing to get any other tools.

A customer review before and after showing a small dent in their wall, and the after photo showing how the kit fixed it with no hole
    amazon.com

Promising review: "This spackle is so handy! Much easier and faster than opening a regular container of spackle, then finding a putty knife to use and sand paper. Everything you need is right there. I filled probably close to 50 small holes and nicks from kids throwing toys, etc. in less than 15 minutes. Would definitely recommend this." —Michelle Smith

Get it from Amazon for $5.98.

    5. A set of NoNo Brackets — curtain rod brackets you can mount to your existing blinds so that you don't have to drill any holes.

    amazon.com

Promising review: "This bracket is awesome and was extremely easy to install. We were able to hang curtains over our vertical blinds in just a few minutes and didn't even need any tools. Great product!!!" —Amazon Customer

Get a set of two from Amazon for $14.95 (also available in brown).

    6. An all-in-one Hang-O-Matic picture hanging tool so anything you decide to put on your walls is totally level — and you don't have to do the walk of shame back to your walls to drill a second set of holes.

A series of photos showing the progression of using the tool to evenly hang frames
    Amazon

Promising review: "While hanging shelves and frames and other wall decorations shouldn't be rocket science, I make things more complicated than they should be. Leveling is where I normally falter. With the Hang-O-Matic it becomes an exact science! It's so simple to use! I've hung over 10 items on our walls this past weekend and it was a breeze with this tool. Just measure, put the tape to the wall where you want it, ensure your tape is level, and then push the marker pins in to know where you need to put in your anchors/hooks. When you're doing it solo, this tool is absolutely priceless!" —Shameel Kumar

Get it from Amazon for $14.98.

    7. A handy grout pen – with a little elbow grease, it can get your stained grout lines on your tiled floors and walls looking like new again. Its formula is mold-resistant and one pen can cover up to 60 meters of grout area.

    amazon.com, amazon.com

Just a note, this does take some elbow grease and time to actually do (one of my colleagues did it to her bathroom and it took her a few hours) but in comparison to actually regrouting your whole floor — this is a total time-saver.

Promising review: "I have 12-inch white tile in my whole house that is 20 years old. Even though I have kept it looking nice, the grout still was getting dark. I cleaned the grout and let it dry good 'til the next day then used the grout pen. It looks like it is brand-new. One thing that I found out was that if the tip of the pen starts to look worn you can just pull it out and turn it over — it is the same tip on both ends. It will take some time to do the whole house but it looks so great that I will just do a section at a time 'til I finish. One other thing that I did was run my finger down the grout line after I apply the grout pen then wipe down the tile line with a paper towel so no other cleanup was necessary." —Amazon Customer

Get it from Amazon for $8.99 (available in three colors and two sizes).

    8. Or forget painting your grout and use an acid-free grout cleaner that goes in deep to get even the dirtiest, grossest crevices and leave you with brand new **looking** grout.

    amazon.com, Amazon

Promising review: "Great product from what I can see. As described it does not work for soap stains, but for plain dirty grout, it makes the job as easy as possible. My bathroom grout (white tile/grout) was nasty from the previous owners of the house. About an hour on the floor with this product and the grout looks as good as it ever. Spray it on, give it a minute to soak in, and scrub. You can see the dirt come up immediately. Wipe up with water and done. I'll probably make another pass to get a few spots that I didn't allow to soak in properly, but as you can see it does work well." —M. Smith

Get it from Amazon for $16.98+ (available in a varity of size options).

    9. A pack of Command picture-hanging strips that'll aid you in hanging your ever-growing art collection without digging any holes into your walls.

    Amazon

Promising review: "I used these to put a 24x36 dry erase board/corkboard on the wall and not have to anchor and screw it to the wall. It took less than a minute to push them together, peel one side, stick it to the back of the board, peel the other side and stick it to the wall — using masking tape that as a guide to ensure that it would be level. I've had zero problems using this to attach the board to the wall." —Lew

Get a pack of four pairs from Amazon for $3.44 (available in white and black and for bathroom walls).

    10. A pack of clog-removing drain tools to get deep down in there to get anything blocking up your sink and drains.

    amazon.com, amazon.com

Promising review: "OMG!! I'm just speechless. Our tub drain was a bit slow so I decided to try this thing without much expectation. Stuck the plastic all the way down, move the thing a little, and pulled it out. I was in so much shock at how much hair came out. It's probably all the hair that went down the drain over the past seven years...literally you could make a wig out of it! Surprised I am not bald! So worth the money!!! Definitely recommend it to everyone." —Kelly

Get a pack of six from Amazon for $11.88.

    11. And while you're at it try a magnificent TubShroom, because if you've ever had to deal with a clogged bathtub drain, you never want to have to deal with it again — and this little guy will make sure you don't have to!

A customer review photo of them holding the TubShroom covered in hair after taking it out of the drain
    amazon.com

This fits any standard 1.5-inch tub drain or bathroom sink drain. But, if you want to keep your hair-catching separate between your tub and sink, then treat yourself and your home to the SinkShroom!

Promising review: "This is absolutely worth every penny. Kudos to the inventor of this product. I have thick long dark hair, and after two months of moving into my own apartment, my shower drain was completely clogged with all my hair. After being disgusted at the amount of hair I had to clean out with a snake (which is NOT a fun task), I decided I needed to purchase something to prevent it from happening again. I read about this product in a BuzzFeed article, and I have no regrets. It is so satisfying to clean out, and it does not lie when it says it catches every single hair. I have had it for close to four months without once instance of my shower drain backing up. This product is absolutely worth it." —JT

Get it from Amazon for $12.45+ (available in five colors).

    12. A miraculous little bottle of Quick N Brite Fireplace Cleaner designed to clean away soot, smoke, creosote, and ash from nearly any fireplace — brick, stone, tile, rock. You name it!

    amazon.com

Promising review: "Unbelievable! My daughter just moved into her first home. She thought she would have to paint her brick fireplace because of the heavy soot stains that had been there for years. We applied the product twice and put in a whole lot of elbow grease, but what a difference! It’s a messy process, but well worth the time and energy." —MM

    13. A guided gallery wall kit that includes everything you need to create one — including seven frames, a hanging template, hardware, and even some pretty black-and-white prints that you can use or replace.

Promising review: "I love this set! It was delivered quickly, all of the frames and glass came in perfect condition. My favorite part of the entire thing was the guide it came with. After putting the pictures in the frames, I hung the guide, made sure it was level, and drilled the holes right into the paper. Everything came out level, the frames and pictures look great. Definitely happy with this purchase." —Cristina C Sanchez

Get it from Amazon for $47.99+ (available in three finishes).

    14. It comes in a biodegradable packet that you can just drop in.

A customer review photo of the hooks on a wall holding all their masks
    amazon.com

    16. A genius and super discreet three-outlet power strip that's designed to look like your already existing plug while helping you keep the cords organized.

    Amazon

Promising review: "Did y’all know they made these?!? Okay, I was moving some furniture around in the guest room and my beautiful bride just wasn’t happy with how far the dresser stood out from the wall because of the TV plug. She said there has to be some way to fix that in this day and time. Know what? She was right! I did some searching on the old internet and found these. I put it on the outlet behind the dresser and shoved it into place. Just so y’all know, the wall plug is indeed flat and it’s designed to cover the whole plug when you use it. Please don’t ask me how thin or thick it is, cause I already put it behind the dresser and I dang shore ain’t about to pull it out to measure it for someone’s question. Just know that it’s flatter’n a bug in a windscreen and works great!" —James P.

Get it from Amazon for $23.95+ (available in three sizes and with or without surge).

    17. A bacteria- and virus-killing Clorox Toilet Wand Starter Kit complete with disposable heads perfect for letting you get all up in your toilet's filth without having to actually get anywhere near it — and that might actually give you a little more time before you need to fully replace it.

Promising review: "So, we have a toilet that belongs to the cats. We don't use it, we don't look at it, we like to pretend it does not exist. Even with semi-regular flushing, cat waste is pretty nasty stuff that builds up quickly in the bowl. One of these wands cleaned it up in a single session (pictured above)!" —Whitney

Get it from Amazon for $7.93.

    18. A set of magnetic decorative hinges to give your garage door that carriage look without that carriage price — and they're magnetic so they don't require any drilling or tools, just stick them on and bam! Instant curb appeal.

A customer review before and after photo showing garage door with and without the hinges
    amazon.com

Promising review: "The only thing I don’t like is that kids think they are real and walk up and try to hang on the handles, which obviously just come right off. I have to admit it’s hysterical, it does teach the kids to quit messing around with things they shouldn’t because they think they break them... it’s downright comical. Other than that, you would never know they are magnetic. They stay on, you can pull them off easily to wash the doors and then just put right back on. Heavy rains and they didn’t come off. It’s -20 degrees outside now, and they're still stuck on with no problems. I got three sets — one double door and one single door, looks perfect." —Rummy3

Get it from Amazon for $17.99+ (available in three styles/combos).

They can be used on sloped ceilings up to 45˚, works in damp locations, has a 50 lbs. maximum load rating, and is paintable with no visible screws or hardware.

Promising review: "This was a pretty easy installation considering the work is on the ceiling. I've been wanting to change out the two can lights over my sink for years, so I started investigating the easiest possible way to do so. Ran across this item, and watched the video on YouTube. What the heck, I thought! Rewatched the video before installation, looked at the directions on both the converter kit and the pendant light, gathered the necessary tools described in all instructions, and set upon my mission. The hardest part (for me) was getting the self-tapping screws started. I'm pretty pleased with the outcome, I must say! By the way, I'm a 55-year-old female who has worked at a bank all of my life. Yes! It was that easy. I would highly recommend it." —Trisch Reeve

Get it from Amazon for $17.07.

Get a pack of two from Amazon for $9.99.

    22. A peel-and-stick subway tile backsplash to give your kitchen (or bathroom) an upgrade that doesn't require any actual tiling work.

    amazon.com, amazon.com

Promising review: "I have planned to install a backsplash in our kitchen for a long time now but I hate tiling and grouting. I did a ton of research on vinyl peel and stick tile and knew it would be the best product for me. No mess, quick install, don't have to seal any grout, and overall a simple process. I watched a lot of install videos and purchased a cutting mat, a good box cutter, and a straight edge. The most tedious part is overlapping the grout lines, you do have to be a perfectionist and patient for this part or the tiles will look off. I knew I would be caulking around all the edges so I didn't focus on making the edge tiles straight because if they were uneven at the bottom they would be covered by caulk but you have to keep them as level as possible. Overall the project took about half a day and I do get compliments on it." —xliu

Get a 10-pack of 12x12 panels from Amazon for $29.99.

    23. A restorative Howard Products Wood Polish & Conditioner that uses beeswax to help give luster to any wood surface — floors, tables, legs...whatever! If you're looking to bring new life to your worn floors you might want to try this before calling on some professionals.

    amazon.com, Amazon

Promising review: "This product is worth every penny and goes a very long way. We had tired, oak floors that haven’t been refinished in over 50 years. They were dried out and washed out. This product took away decades in an hour with a few rags and a lot of elbow grease. One word of caution, floors are very slippery for a few days after. Be very careful walking around. Bonus, it smells amazing. It has a natural orange peel smell that is fresh and clean and not at all harsh or chemical. Highly, highly recommend." —GMD

Get it from Amazon for $8.98.

    24. A one-day cabinet makeover kit to give your kitchen that just-remodeled feeling for pennies versus what it would cost to replace them.

A before and after customer review photo of their wood cabinets painted white
    amazon.com

Promising review: "Amazing! Amazing! Amazing. Did take more than one coat though. My cabinets were bare wood and I still needed a couple of coats. (Five to be exact, but that was just me being extra.) My kitchen is medium-sized, not too big, and it only took up one can. But I still went over a couple more times just to get a nice coating. I also let it sit for some days and saw the wood was sucking up the paint in some areas so I went over it again. The project ideally does take one day like the promotion video says, but one day as in 24 hours. This took my kitchen from looking like a cheap rental apartment kitchen to a high-quality kitchen with just this paint and new knobs. The paint is perfect for cabinets — it's not too thick, so you still see the wood grains. It comes with EVERYTHING you need. I didn't have to buy a thing. The project is super easy, paint dries fast, and I did it at first by removing the cabinets but it wasn't necessary at all. Just make sure you don't leave any dripping because it would make your cabinets look cheap. I would recommend EVERYONE to purchase this and give your cabinets a chance before making a big investment in new cabinets. Wood is wood and it can be refinished." —Brandon Moronta

Promising review: "This product is easy-to-use and I found the instructions simple to follow. The kit comes with almost everything you need, although you will also need some painter's tape. Prepping your countertops and surrounding surfaces is vital to the success of this project. FOLLOW the INSTRUCTIONS. Applying the minerals takes the longest, as you can add more of any color for the desired look, cover mistakes or make changes using the sponges (included). Take your time and use the color minerals in your kit until you have exactly the look you want. I applied two coats of the glitter topcoat, but, decided to apply epoxy for extra protection and shine. IT WAS WELL WORTH IT! I love the transformation. My sister was so impressed, she purchased a kit to do her bathroom countertops as well." —London M.

    29. A long-lasting caulk sealant to reseal all those unsightly cracks in your tub and tile.

    Amazon, amazon.com

Promising review: "I'm a newbie when it comes to home improvement and I wasn't sure how to caulk my tub but I watched YouTube videos and thought I could figure it out. I scraped off all the old caulk with a utility knife/scraper (this took about two hours because I had multiple levels of caulk). I added painter's blue tape to create a line so that after caulking I would just remove the blue tape without an issue (similar to painting). Then I proceeded to use this caulk. No gun needed. Just open and squeeze. I used my wet finger to press down to make sure it is completely in. Immediately after, I removed the blue painter's tape and waited 72 hours until it was dry. Then I applied the Sashco Sealants Clear Lexel Adhesive Caulk, I added this because I wanted an extra level of protection. This is clear and you cannot see the mess at all so I didn't use the painter's blue tape. I waited another 72 hours. It all worked out beautifully and now my tub has perfectly white edges all around. It has held up very well. I did this about four months ago." —Rose S

Get it from Amazon for $8.45.

    30. A versatile Katzco Furniture Repair Kit for anyone lookin' to freshen up their wooden doors, furniture, or fixtures without having to replace them. It comes with six wood markers and six wax sticks all designed to match whatever wood you need fixed.

    amazon.com, amazon.com

Promising review: "Despite our consistent efforts, it took almost a year to teach our new dog to not jump up on the back door. And as you can see in the first picture, he managed to do a lot of scratching. That's why I bought this marker kit, to repair those scratches. I used 'oak,' a lighter color, on the scratches. I did have to go over them again to completely cover them. That's what you see in the second picture, and it took me about 10 minutes total. I bought the kit with the wax crayons as I hoped to fill in the scratches too, I read in another review that it's possible but takes a lot of work. Unless I'm looking for the defects, I no longer notice the scratches (and mind you, these are at eye level) so this did the job I wanted." —P. Ratliff

Promising review: "I was in a hopeless situation. A jetted tub that was so neglected when I moved into my apartment. I thought it would have to be replaced. We had tried chlorine bleach, hydrogen peroxide, and pool cleaner — nothing seemed to touch this mess. Then we found Oh Yuk! on the internet as a recommendation. It was either this or replace the tub. After two applications, as directed, the tub was cleaned. The amount of slime removed was unreal, I cannot imagine why this is not standard maintenance protocol on all jetted tubs. I will continue to use this product, it's amazingly effective and I think it will keep this tub operational for years to come." —CeeJay

Did it myself — a section at a time, but did a large home in two days and the results were amazing. I consider myself a 'clean' person, vacuuming and mopping several times a week. The dirt these brushes got up from my floors was amazing (and disgusting). Recommended them to my friends that night at dinner!" —Mary

Get it from Amazon for $14.95+ (available in five bristle types).

    36. An easy-to-install outlet cover plate designed with LED lights so that it can double as a nightlight.

    Amazon

Promising review: "These go on in about 30 seconds. They are awesome. I did not shut off the power to my outlets, but I have experience getting shocked doing residential electrical work, so I've learned my lessons about what not to touch. Even a true beginner would be able to install these without issue. Their tolerance for low light is on the sensitive side, so they end up on more than off but the downward cast light is not bothersome. I was put off by the price at first but bought a two-pack to try out — ended up going back for 10 more." —Oliver North

Get a pack of two from Amazon for $27.98 (also available for light switches).

    37. A simple but generous outlet shelf so you have a little extra space for your devices.

A customer review photo of the shelf attached above their sockets
    amazon.com

Promising review: "I was very skeptical about this one, I had it in my cart for a while and just couldn’t get myself to order it. Once I did and I received it, I was so happy. I will be ordering more now. It adds extra storage space. My laundry room is very limited so any added storage is key! I use it for my dryer sheets. I’ll be ordering another to store a small trash bin for lint from the dryer. I’m thinking about also adding these around the house for other things. Promising review: "Changed the oil on my girlfriend's car and some oil spilled on my NEW driveway...which I didn't notice 'til four days later. Four spots all about the size of a dollar bill baking in the Arizona sun for four days. Found this searching on Amazon and I thought, whatever. That's one less vodka soda tonight for dinner. Put the stuff on (sits on the stain like pancake batter — don't be afraid to pour liberally) and let it sit from 6 p.m. 'til about 9 a.m. the next day. It dried and the instructions said to just sweep the stuff up (right, like I am not going to need a scraper and wire scrub pad for an hour. HA). Well it broke apart with the broom and the stains were gone, just swept up the powder pieces — took about a minute. I WAS SHOCKED! Something that actually works on oil and it's easy. Absolutely NO sign of anything that was there. My driveway is smooth concrete so I can't vouch for what would happen with a rougher surface but whoever makes this stuff is a genius. If they tried to take on World Peace, Earth would be a better place." —AmazonBob
