Yes, the company that makes the best speakers on the planet now makes sunglasses that play music only you can hear and they're VERY freakin' cool!
The Bose Connect app can help you set up the glasses and sync them to your device. It's actually super easy and took about 30 seconds.
They play music, take calls, block up to 99% of UVA/UVB rays, and they pause when you take them off!
You can just pop out the classic lenses they come with and switch them out for the mirrored, blue gradient, or rose gold options available at just under $30 a set.
When I sat in total silence, with someone no more than a foot away from me (imagine a library setting) and my music blasting louder than I'd ever actually listen to it, the person next to me could hear a muffled sound. So they aren't totally sound-proof. But when I did the same thing with my earbuds, the result was the same. Also, I'd like to point out that chances of me wearing sunnies in a library are probably pretty slim.
When I walked down the street listening to my music at a volume that was enjoyable, the person I was walking with couldn't hear a thing. And when they talked to me, I could hear them — actually paying attention to them is another story. Living in a major metropolitan city, I always get nervous about listening to music and totally blocking out the reality that surrounds me. Not with these bad boys!
"These are awesome! They are actually really comfortable, light, and the sound is great! I got them for my husband for Father's Day and I think most of the neighborhood dads had ordered some for themselves by the end of the day!" — KristanM
"I was an ‘early adopter’ of these sunglasses and eight months later am writing to praise them. The sound is excellent and they are light (not significantly different than my plastic frame sunglasses although slightly heavier than an aviator wire frame). I am writing this from Morocco (in the Sahara) and the lenses are dark enough to wear here. They work great at the pool or a beach without disturbing others around me with sound escape. I use them for audible books, music, and occasional phone calls and they work very well — except, perhaps, with the microphone in a strong wind or lots of ambient noise. They charge quickly, although the proprietary charging cord is rather short. Overall this is a piece of tech I use every day, like my phone, and have replaced my favorite prescription sunglasses with them. They are the best investment I have made in a tech item, even as an Apple aficionado." —DocMark
"I think Bose is really on to something with these frames. The sound is terrific, ear fatigue is gone (a major accomplishment in itself), and they look very good. The sunglasses are fine, but they need lenses for +1, +2, and +3 reading glasses at the very least for many with less than perfect vision. Also prescription glasses is a big thing for many people. Other than expanding the lens options, these frames are a great new product!" —Frank
P.S. all these retailers have pretty stellar return policies in the event you aren't sure which lenses and which frames would work best for you.
