Americans Try Colombian Snacks

Just an FYI, limón does not equal lemon — just wanna get that out of the way now.

If you're anything like me, you're probably really missing the ability to travel. The yearning to go off and explore new places, eat new foods, and meet new people is clogging my every thought! But even if you're not like me, you're probably still down to try some new and yummy snacks.

Which is why I want to introduce you to Universal Yums. A snack box company that'll deliver treats from around the world, right to your door.

Universal Yums is a subscription-based service that will automatically send you monthly boxes filled with snacks (you can also give boxes as a gift for 1, 3, 6, or 12 months). Every box is dedicated to one country at a time and boxes are offered in different sizes (everything from 6, 12, to 20 snacks per box).

Boxes range from $13.75 to $39 (depending on the size and frequency). Plus, if you really like a snack from your box they have a marketplace where you can go and buy them individually. Shipping for items from the marketplace have a flat rate shipping fee ($5.99) so you can stock up with as much as you want for the same shipping price.

Recently, a few BuzzFeeders had the opportunity to unbox a special delivery from Universal Yums filled with so many amazing Colombian snacks — and after salivating for a bit, it spurred me to go check out their website and see exactly what they had to offer.

The Colombian box was filled with everything from mayo chips to passion fruit lollipops — helping us all get an idea of the diverse (and delicious) flavors Colombians get to snack on every day.

Some of the crowd favorites were the limón bacon chips (which are honestly two of my favorite flavors so I can only imagine how good these chips are).

I think it's important to point out that limón does not equal lemon. In fact, it's actually a lime (although depending on where you are that can differ as well). So although the packaging reads "lemon" — it is not.

The coconut cream chocolate wafers were also loved because of their mix of two super delicious things — coconuts and chocolate.
