We recently asked members of the BuzzFeed Community to tell us about the best romantic comedies they've found on Netflix. Here are their recommendations... 1. Before We Go (2014) RADiUS Watch on: Netflix US, UK, Canada, and more"It's directed by Chris Evans and it's such a cute story. It's a nice indie movie to watch on a Sunday afternoon." – chelsrene 2. The Decoy Bride (2011) CinemaNX Watch on: Netflix US"It stars David Tennant as James Arber, an author who is engaged to an extremely famous actress (Alice Eve). The couple is trying to have a private wedding, but can't escape the paparazzi. Their solution is to go to the tiny island of Hegg in Scotland which is the setting of his famous book. Only he's never actually been there before, and the locals aren't as enamoured of his book as his fiancée is. It's the cutest rom-com, and my husband actually likes watching it with me." – Cate Flanagan, Facebook 3. Our Lovers (2016) Netflix Watch on: Netflix Worldwide"It's in Spanish, but has English subtitles. I watched it two nights in a row because it's so sweet!" – Montgomery Marie, Facebook 4. For a Good Time, Call... (2012) Focus Features Watch on: Netflix US"It was so unexpectedly funny! While there are definitely dating ups and downs, it's almost like a romantic comedy about best friends. They start out as roommates hating each other and become business owners and BFFs along the way." – yesnokatyso 5. The 10 Year Plan (2014) Paramount Watch on: Netflix Worldwide"It's about two gay friends who make a pact at age 25 to become a couple if they haven't found anyone by 35. Ten years later, they're still best friends, but they may or may not have feelings for each other..." – Mary Grace Buckley, Facebook 6. The DUFF (2015) Lionsgate Watch on: Netflix UK, France, India, and more"It's a pretty smart and funny film. Girl likes crush, girl employs the help of her neighbour, who was once her BFF as kids, to help her become attractive, girl realises crush is a vapid tool, girl then realises it's the neighbour who had her heart all along." – Tammy Taitt, Facebook 7. Someone Like You (2001) 20th Century Fox Watch on: Netflix US and France"It's a really adorable movie. Don't get me wrong, the beginning is really maddening, but it gets real cute real quick. And of course it has the nice fairytale ending with Hugh Jackman." – erika10vachon 8. Last Holiday (2006) Paramount Pictures Watch on: Netflix UK and more"It's cheesy as heck, but I love me some Last Holiday. Queen Latifah treating herself against the magical background of Karlovy Vary makes it one of those perfect Sunday afternoon films." – Maria Kanno, Facebook 9. Beauty and the Briefcase (2010) ABC Family Watch on: Netflix US, Italy, and more"It's about a girl who goes undercover to write an article for Cosmo about finding love in the business world using a list of criteria for her 'magic man'. And it stars Hilary Duff – need I say more?" – Kara Farley, Facebook 10. Man Up (2015) StudioCanal Watch on: Netflix US and Canada"Lake Bell plays a brilliant British writer whose life is a mess and Simon Pegg plays a jaded divorcee on a mistaken-identity date. This movie does all of the great rom-com cliches SO well while keeping its leads weirder than normal. Cannot recommend highly enough." – emilye410147352 11. I Hate Valentine's Day (2009) IFC Films Watch on: Netflix US"It's so funny and heartwarming and just like a classic rom-com, and it stars Nia Vardalos and John Corbett, making it like My Big Fat Greek Wedding nostalgia! They have such great chemistry even in these totally different characters." – kaiar 12. Better Off Single (2016) Gravitas Ventures Watch on: Netflix UK, Canada, Australia, and more"It's rare we get to see a romantic comedy that focuses on the guy as the central character, and though he's flawed, I thought the main character was very relatable." – jonathanp48e056052 13. 4th Man Out (2015) Gravitas Ventures Watch on: Netflix Japan"It's about a young guy in a town in upstate New York who comes out on his birthday, and then his three straight friends do their best to get him a boyfriend. It's a great watch, and defies typical LGBT+ stereotypes." – Mary Grace Buckley, Facebook 14. What to Expect When You're Expecting (2012) Lionsgate Watch on: Netflix UK, Japan, and more"It's my go-to cheer-up film!" – charo2 15. Drinking Buddies (2013) Magnolia Pictures Watch on: Netflix Worldwide"It stars Olivia Wilde and Jake Johnson (Nick from New Girl). It's a nice little indie that'll make you think a bit and, in the end, will make you happy." – aceghostta 16. The Other Sister (1999) Buena Vista Pictures Watch on: Netflix US"It's adorable, sweet, and funny, but its comedy is never at the expense of its leading couple, Carla and Dan, who are both mentally disabled. It is one of my all-time favourite love stories and a beautiful coming-of-age story." – ashleyprice 17. TiMER (2009) Present Pictures Watch on: Netflix US and more"It's set in a future or a different universe where (almost) everyone in the world wears a device that counts down to the day they meet their soulmate." – UriEbb 18. After the Ball (2015) Freestyle Releasing Watch on: Netflix US and UK"I discovered it at 2am when I couldn't sleep – I thought it would be a stupid tween movie, but it turned out to be AMAZING. The love interest is in the background compared to a fight for justice that involves She's the Man-esque cross-dressing." – Josie 19. Big Stone Gap (2014) Universal Pictures Watch on: Netflix US"It's about a woman in her thirties – you know, the kind that used to be called 'Old Maid' – working in a diner in her hometown in Virginia." – RCIAG 20. Take Care (2014) Netflix Watch on: Netflix US and Turkey"I didn't expect to like it as much as I did, but I've watched it multiple times now." – Ana Nunez, Facebook 21. Slow Learners (2015) Sundance Selects Watch on: Netflix US and Canada"It's a brilliant, underrated romantic comedy. The two leads are phenomenal!" – celiah 22. One Small Hitch (2013) Freestyle Releasing Watch on: Netflix US"It's cheesy, it's light, it's funny, and it's predictable, and I love it!" – millya4d0104c73 23. Don't Blame the Kid (2016) Adicta Films Watch on: Netflix Worldwide"It stars Karla Souza from How to Get Away With Murder. My heart melts – it's so funny and so cute. It's in Spanish, but it's worth the subtitles." – daynal4ee2f7c5f 24. The First Time (2012) Samuel Goldwyn Films Watch on: Netflix UK, Canada, Brazil and more"It's a witty, heartfelt rom-com about two teenagers who meet outside of a party and end up immediately hitting it off. The only issue is that she's taken and he's infatuated with someone else, but the sparks are undeniable to everyone around them. It's an intelligent, funny, and painfully familiar story." – gaelrouge Want to be featured in similar BuzzFeed posts? Make sure to follow the BuzzFeed Community on Facebook and Twitter!
