The ACTUAL Girl With The Dragon Tattoo — Lisbeth — Is Getting A Modern-Day TV Series

    Who needs Mikael Blomkvist?

Today, I learned that Lisbeth Salander — star of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo books and films — is coming to our TV screens in a series produced by Amazon Studios.

According to Variety, the series — currently titled The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo — won't be a remake or continuation of the original series, but rather "take Salander and place her in today’s world with a wholly new setting, new characters, and a new story."

Like, am I sad that this probably means we won't get a Lisbeth and Mikael Blomkvist HEA? Yes. But also, I am here for Lizzy kickin' ass and takin' names.

I got really into the books and David Fincher's Dragon Tattoo — starring my queen, Rooney Mara — and was DEVASTATED when the movies stopped after the first book.

So, even though this series will follow a new story, all is well because the through line is still one of my favorite protagonists in modern film and literature.

No news of a release date or a star, so until then, I wait with bated breath.
