What Are Your Favorite Last Lines In Literature?

Aaaaannnd time to start this book again from the beginning.

If you have even the tiniest love for literature, then you know how satisfying it is to read the final words on a page and close a novel.

So, we want to know some of your favorite last lines in literature! Ones that made you laugh or cry, gave you chills, or maybe gave you a little bit of hope.

Maybe it was the memorable ending of F. Scott Fitzgerald's The Great Gatsby, "So we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past."

Perhaps it was the historically romantic end to Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice, "With the Gardiners, they were always on the most intimate terms. Darcy, as well as Elizabeth, really loved them, and they were both sensible of the warmest gratitude towards persons who, by bringing her into Derbyshire, had been the means of uniting them."

Or maybe it was the satisfyingly simple conclusion to the Harry Potter series, "All was well."

Needless to say, the closing lines of books often stay with us long after we finish the final chapter.

So tell us YOUR favorite last line from a book — and how it made you feel — in the drop box below, and your answer could be featured in an upcoming BuzzFeed Community post and/or video!
