"Emily In Paree" Got Multiple Golden Globe Nominees, And These 16 Shows Didn't

This is, how do you say, très tragique.

This morning, the Golden Globe nominees were announced and, to everyone's shock, Emily in Paris received not one, but TWO, nominations:

Emily in Paris was nominated for Best Comedy or Musical Series, and Lily Collins was nominated for Best Actress in a Comedy or Musical Series.

Now, don't get me wrong, did I watch the entire show? Yes. Did I enjoy it? Totes. Do I think it's an award-winning program? That's gonna be a, how do you say, non?

I personally think that there are some shows that are critically UNDER-acclaimed and deserve recognition. Here's only a small sampling of those programs:

1. I May Destroy You — 0 Nominations:

BBC / HBO

This series follows Arabella — who is loosely based on Michaela Coel — who is trying to piece together the night she was drugged and raped.

2. Mrs. America — 1 nomination:

FX

Cate Blanchett was nominated for Best Actress in a Miniseries or Television Film.

This series is a dramatized account of the movement to ratify the Equal Rights Amendment, and it follows key players Phyllis Schlafly, Gloria Steinem, and Shirley Chisholm.

3. Lovecraft Country — 1 nomination:

HBO

Lovecraft Country was nominated for Best Televison Drama.

This horror series follows Leti, Tic, and Uncle George as they fight to survive on their trip across America in the Jim Crow era.

This Regency-era romance follows Daphne Bridgerton as she embarks on her first marriage season in London.

This drama series follows a group of interns who are fighting for a few limited spots at London's top investment bank.

This drama series follows the intertwined lives of a lower-class black family and an upper-class white family in the late '90s.

This comedy-drama follows a group of teens living on an Italian naval base who are trying to figure out their sexualities and identities.

Ramy Youssef was nominated for Best Actor in a Television Series: Musical or Comedy.

This series follows a fictionalized version of Ramy Youssef, a first-generation American Muslim, struggling to straddle his two worlds.

This series follows Maya and Anna — who play fictionalized 13-year-old versions of themselves — as they experience middle school "as it really happened," cringe and all.

This mystery drama follows a group of high school cheerleaders whose loyalties are tested after a new coach enters the fold.
