    Dzu's Ad Council ABC's

    After a decade at the Ad Council, this is what I've learned.

    1. Archive your calendar – it will make more space.

    2. Barbara is a very popular name.

    3. Children at work can be fun.

    4. Don't feel you always have to answer right away.

    5. Experts are willing to help.

    6. Face time is important.

    7. Great ideas come from random places.

    8. Heidi Arthur is pretty much never wrong.

    9. Identify a mentor.

    10. Join loyalty programs before you start traveling.

    11. Knock on the wellness room door. Sometimes it's closed and no one is in there. (Use the occupied sign please)

    12. Level set so you can over-deliver

    13. Metal coffee K-cups are the way to go.

    14. Napping is a great way to clear the mind.

    15. Only Jon Fish can sign contracts and SOWs.

    16. People care.

    17. Questioning a process is ok.

    18. Remember, things will work out. In our business, no one is dying because of something you did.

    19. Screams of excitement mean marriage or birth.

    20. Take time to eat lunch with people, it's nice.

    21. Usually there is someone around willing to help.

    22. Video assets don't have to cost a lot to produce.

    23. When it's donated media, you can always ask - we're not paying anyway.

    24. X-ray displays are super cool.

    25. You can always get a contact from Corporate Development.

    26. Zoo, Jew or D-zew, no one will ever get my name right the first time.
