8 Scary Halloween Paper Decorations

Give the trick-or-treaters an extra special surprise this year and turn your home into the ultimate haunted house with these easy to make paper Halloween decorations.

1. Ghoulish Paper Chain

Stencil and cut out ghost shapes. Take 2 large sheets of white paper, tape together and concertina fold the paper to create even layers. Place your stencil on top and cut around leaving the edges uncut to create the paper chain. Open up the paper to reveal your terrifying ghosts to hang on the wall.

3. The Trees Have Eyes

Ever get the feeling your being watched? Get yourself some glow-in-the-dark ink markers to draw some scary eyes on paper. Cut them out and stick around the garden to freak out your friends and passers-by.

Put your Christmas lights to early use and give them a creepy twist with plain white paper cups and stick on eyes. (Or cut out some paper eyes to stick on!)

5. Wicked Paper Web

Perfect for snatching up unexpected victims as they walk through doorways! Take a piece of paper and concertina fold it into one-inch sections. Once the entire piece of paper is folded, fold in half to mark the middle. Next, cut out rectangle shapes all along the folds to create the web – don’t worry, it doesn’t have to be perfect! To finish, cut out some little spiders from a different colour paper and place on the web.

6. Pumpkin Lanterns

Take a piece of orange coloured paper and draw a scary face on it with a black marker. Fold your paper in half lengthwise. Concertina fold and cut out narrow strips along each fold leaving at least one inch at each end. Unfold and staple to form the round lantern shape. Finally, create a handle with a strip of leftover paper – this can be used to hang them to the ceiling or trees.

7. Scary Skulls

Line the path leading up to your door with some scary skulls. Cut a skull shape out of white paper and attached to a bamboo skewer stick and place into position in your garden.
