For those not familiar with the issues. The San Jose territorial rights were originally the Oakland A’s. They gave it to the SF Giants when they were about to move to Tampa Bay in the 90s. The Giants lost the public funding vote in San Jose and they ended up building AT&T, but the San Jose rights never reverted back to the A’s. The goodwill gesture the A’s offered the Giants, should be replicated. Oakland cannot fundanew stadium, the A’s want to move to San Jose, San Jose wants them, there are numerous corporations in Silicon Valley who can afford to fill the luxury boxes, and San Jose is the 10th largest city in the US to attract fans. Its not complicated, just the Giants not letting the A’s move there using the territorial rights as leverage that the A’s originally had to begin with.
