9 Things That May Have Happened Differently Had The Film Paddington Been Based On Reality

We all know Paddington Bear as the adorable, polite, creature who moves to London in hopes of a new start - but what would happen realistically if an English family decided to accept a stray bear into their home? *Warning - spoilers!*

1. There is a Grizzly Bear on the tube, hurry along now!

In one of the first scenes Paddington is alone at the tube station, as hundreds of people walk by, not one seems phased by the fact that there is a bear in the middle of the tube platform. Now if this were a reality film - not only would there be complete chaos, people terrified, running and screaming, but the Grizzly Paddington would probably attack a few.

2. Most mothers just buy their children a Teddy Bear

One would question Ms. Brown's morals and parenting skills, you know, bringing a stray GRIZZLY BEAR to live in her home with her two children.

3. One can't receive all their protein from marmalade

Had Paddington been a real, life bear and not a sweet, cuddly one with manners - I am afraid that Mr. Brown may have ended up being the meal. And Paddington probably would not fit in the booth let alone be able to sit at a table.

4. Well, bears will be bears!

In the rare occurrence that a family would bring a Grizzly into their home, the bathroom being ruined would be only the beginning of household problems. Think about the furniture! The dog! For Christ's sakes, bears do not use the toilet, THINK OF THE CARPET!

In one scene Paddington makes it into the newspaper for exposing a thief, but in the new non-fiction version of his life Paddington would make it into the newspaper for something closer to mauling several individuals the previous day at the tube.

6. He talks, he wears clothing and he flies

The part about being a talking bear alone would shock the world enough for Paddington to be forced into a circus to perform stunts for the majority of his life - but he also wears human clothing and manages to defeat the restrictions of gravity several times (be it with umbrella or mini hoovers).

A real life Grizzly Bear also probably would not have such a close call with the Taxidermist, mostly due to the fact that instinct would kick in and Paddington would more than likely just attack her and escape.

9. London Zoo doesn't have too many bears

Lastly, the film would probably end more along the lines of Paddington being extremely annoyed with the family and their small home, and he would eventually be captured and given a place in the London Zoo. Where he would probably be wishing he had just stayed in Peru.
