#GabrielsWish
Gabriel is an outgoing 13 year old boy. He was diagnosed with Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis at the age of three. He was diagnosed with growth hormone deficiency at 11 due to systemic problems with the JRA effecting his pituitary gland. We have been trying to working with a charity to grant Gabriel a wish, but with the size of our family (6) this is turning out to be more complicated then we anticipated.
Gabriel wants the entire family to be able to participate, he loves all of his siblings :) He has a few wishes on the table, such as, a cruise on the Carnival Vista (something about having a thrill theater) where he can also see Atlantis and swim with dolphins. A trip to BlizzCon, and hopefully a day to hang out with Sean Day9 Plott while there. And the last was a trip to Disneyland California and the San Diego Zoo. He knows he cannot have them all, he was just asked to name three :) The charity we are working with can only guarantee 4 of us going, and that would mean only taking one of the other kids or leaving all of the other kids at home, neither is a good option.
Gabriel has to have 10 injections a week including Enbrel, HgH, and Methatrexate (chemo drug that keeps the JRA in control), plus mobic (anti infalmmatories), vitamin D (for a vitamin D deficiency), allergy pills, omneprezole (prilosec since all the meds are hard on his stomach), and leucovorin (folic acid). He takes all this like a champ, and I believe he deserves one big event :) Help us make it happen. BTW, I haven't told him about this effort yet, but he is always blown away by acts of kindness, I can't wait to show him what the community will do for him.
