A Magpie Swooped This Couple As They Were Getting Their Wedding Shots Taken

The perils of a spring wedding.

This is Sara and Phillip Maria. They recently got married in Armidale, New South Wales. Notice anything odd about this wedding shot of them?

On the right, just out of shot... a bloody magpie, coming in for the swoop.

These amazing pictures were snapped near Uralla, just south of Armidale, by photographer Karen Parr. Karen says she noticed the magpie in the area as soon as she got out of the car because she was swooped straight away.

"We had driven a half-hour to that location so we had little choice but to continue in spite of the attacks. Fortunately no one was hit, just a few close calls," Karen told BuzzFeed.

However, Sara and Phillip loved the photos. "I showed them at the reception and everyone had a good laugh," Karen said.

Despite the angry bird, Karen did manage to get some magpie-free shots for the couple to enjoy and remember their amazing day. ❤️
