Seven Times Buffy The Vampire Slayer Really Killed It

The Slayer’s entire raison d’être was to fight the forces of darkness, but sometimes Buffy Summers really threw herself into her work. Here are seven times Buffy took it to the next level with the slayage.

1. The Master. In the Library. With a Pointy Stick.

The Master got just a little too cocky while he was fighting Buffy on the roof of the high school while the Hellmouth opens below them. He really should have made sure Buffy was dead. Classic villain mistake. She tosses him right onto some conveniently placed broken furniture. Master dusted? Check. Time to party.

2. The Judge. At the Mall. With a Rocket Launcher.

Drusilla’s clairvoyance really should have told her Buffy was going to figure out The Judge’s Achilles’ heel. Thanks to Xander’s army man cos-play, Buffy got a shiny new toy and, boom, Judge-parts all over Sunnydale Mall.

3. Uber Vamp. In the Construction Zone. With Barbed Wire.

There’s no doubt—the uber vamps were tough and the slayer wannabes were scared little girls. Buffy had to show those girls what it meant to be a slayer. She put on a good show, and poof, there went his head.

4. Adam. In the Initiative Lab. With the Scoobie’s Collective Power.

Willow, Xander, and Giles use a gourd and some magic dust to transfer their collective powers to Buffy as she fights the human-monster-cyborg, Adam. His invulnerability finally ends when a magically pumped up Buffy rips the nuclear power source right out of his chest. Poor Adam, he seems so surprised.

5. Caleb. With the Scythe. In a Pyramid.

Never have we ever wanted a Big Bad to die more than Preacher Caleb. He poked Xander’s eye out and slaughtered a bunch of slayer wannabes, for crying out loud. Buffy puts him down once and he gets back up. Arg, won't this guy die? Finally, Buffy hacks in him half with her scythe. Angel: “Where’s Caleb?” Buffy: “He had to split.”

6. Angel. With a Sword. Right into Hell.

Not the happiest kill moment, but certainly a memorable one. Willow’s eleventh hour magic saves Angel’s soul but not in time to keep a vortex to a hell dimension from opening. Buffy is forced to choose between saving the world and saving her lover. She kisses Angel goodbye and plunges her sword right into our feels.

7. Herself. With a Leap of Faith. Above a Portal to Another Dimension.
