The Top 11 Superhero Teams

With the release of the Fantastic Four approaching we’ve decided to look at the top superhero teams to date. These teams have proven that with teamwork they can save the world from any villain who dares threaten it.

1. The X-Men

Marvel

The X-Men are a team of mutants, ordinary humans born with super powers. Gathered together by Charles Xavier these heroes are protecting a world that hates and fears them. Even with all the animosity the X-Men are constantly putting themselves at risk to make sure the dream of peaceful coexistence between humans and mutants has a chance.

2. The Power Rangers

There have been many incarnations of the Power Rangers since they first debuted in the 1990s. Each team has consisted of a group of teenagers who are gathered together by a mentor and given the ability to transform into super-powered being called Power Rangers. Equipped with weapons and Zords, immense assault machines, the Power Rangers save the world from any threat that comes their way.

3. The Sailor Scouts

The Sailor Scouts are a group of young teenage girls who are able to transform to powerful guardians named after their respective planets. Once upon a time they were princesses of their planets during the Silver Millennium, a peaceful age in the universe. When the Silver Millennium was destroyed they were resurrected and sent into the future to make sure that evil could never again threaten peace.

4. The Avengers

Marvel

The Avengers are a group of heroes who assemble together to battle the enemies that no single hero can face. They have a rotating roster that has included spies, mutants, robots, and aliens. With every battle cry of “Avengers assemble” this team will gather together and become Earth’s mightiest heroes.

5. The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen

DC Comics

The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen is a group of superheroes who are mostly from popular works of fiction set in Victorian England. The team brings characters from popular works such as Dracula, King Solomon’s Mines, and Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Even though the team is highly unconventional it has proven to be popular amongst fans everywhere.

6. The Autobots

The Autobots are sentient robots that are able to transform into various types of machinery. Arriving at Earth from the alien planet Cybertron they fight against their evil counterparts, the Decepticons. Optimus Prime, the leader of the Autobots, has a strong sense of justice and believes in peaceful coexistence with humans.

7. The Guardians of the Galaxy

The Guardians of the Galaxy are a spacefaring team of heroes protecting the universe from any threat that may endanger it. They all come from different parts of the universe and work together for the common good. In 2014, Marvel released a film version of the superhero team launching them into the mainstream and becoming one of the most popular superhero teams in modern times.

8. The Scoobies

20th Century Fox

The Scoobies are a group of friends who assist Buffy the Vampire Slayer against the forces of darkness. As the Slayer, Buffy is endowed with superhuman senses, strength, healing, and endurance. In the beginning, the Scoobies were just regular humans who often needed Buffy’s protection. But as time went on they developed superpowers and fighting skills of their own. Now together they fight against demonic threats around the world.

9. The Justice League

DC Comics

The Justice League is an assemblage of the superheroes from the DC comics. Most notable members are Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman. Their origin and roster have changed many times throughout the years but their fight for justice has always been their main goal.

10. The Watchmen

The Watchmen are a team of superheroes from the comic book limited series of the same name. In the series, superheroes began popping up around the 1940s and 1960s helping the United Stated win in the Vietnam War. Soon after, public opinion turned a bit sour and most of the freelance superheroes that remained were considered vigilantes. Even though the team was together for only a short run, they became popular and the series a commercial success.

11. The Fantastic Four

20th Century Fox

The Fantastic Four were four ordinary humans who gained superpowers after being bombarded with cosmic radiation while on a space mission. Although they are sometimes dysfunctional, nothing is more prevalent in this team than their family bond. From the brother/sister relationship with Sue and Johnny Storm to the marriage of Reed Richards and Sue this group of superheroes tackles every challenge they face together as a family. The upcoming film will see a new origin to this team but continues the tradition of a group of superheroes joined together as a family.
