10 Ways To Show Chivalry On Dates

Chivalry dating isn't dead, not even close. See how to win her over with these tips.

Are you looking to leave a lasting impression on a date? Do you want to know how you can stand out and show your date a great night? Here are 10 ways to respect and show chivalry on a date!

First things first, if you want to take a girl out, either ask her in person or call her on the phone. Do not text her, DM her, or have someone do it for you. Build up the courage and do it!

Before you ask them, make sure you have a plan of what you are doing on the date. Don't show up and say, "What do you want to do?" Just winging it does NOT work. It will not impress them, it will not make you look good, and you probably won't get a second date.

If you are picking them up, be on time! Make sure you go to the door and knock. Don't text or honk to say you are there. Also, if their parents are there, introduce yourself and shake their hands. Be firm, polite and respectful. Ask them when they would like you to bring your date home. This will impress the parents, which is very important.

Let your date know the plans for the date so that he or she can dress appropriately for the specific date. Make sure you have good hygiene. Be sure to shower, do your hair, use deodorant and brush your teeth. All these things are ways to attract partners, and they will help you out on dates. This also sends a message to your date that you care, and you put in time and effort to impress them. Effort is Attractive.

When you walk them to the car, open their door for them every time. Open all doors for them throughout the night. Pull their chair out for them at dinner to sit down. It's the little things that will make the difference.

Compliment them! Don't make something up or lie to them. Give them an honest and genuine compliment. Tell them they look beautiful, gorgeous or pretty. They will love it. Look them in the eyes, and avoid looking down or around the room. Eye contact shows interest, and it helps people connect.

Pay attention. Be interested and engaged in the conversation, even when you aren't the one talking. Ask questions to learn about who they are and listen! Make eye contact while you listen and respond. Paying attention to what they are saying will help you know what to say to keep the conversation going. Talk about anything. Be honest and be yourself, but be respectful in the things that you talk about and the language you use.

Guys, if you take them somewhere that requires money, pay for them! Don't ask them out and expect them to pay for you or pay for themselves, that is not chivalrous. If she is taking you out, unless specified that she is paying before hand, offer to pay. That is chivalry!

NO PHONES! Do I need to say more about this? Don't text on your date or take phone calls. Be where you are and live in the moment! Give your date 100% of your attention. In today's day and age it may be acceptable to use GPS navigation or music in the car, but make sure it is for the benefit of the date. Texting and answering phone calls on the date is just plain rude.

At the end of the night, walk them back to the door. Leave it at the doorstep. Don't expect to come in or carry things on. Judge the moment and act appropriately.
