10 Female Characters That Were In The Friendzone

Cuz girls get friendzoned too

Posted on

Chloe Sullivan (Smallville)

This is perhaps one of the most painful girl friendzones to watch. Clark not only preferred her best friend over her, but he also started dating Chloe’s cousin when he broke up with Lana. I guess sometimes beauty, smarts and great personality is not enough compared to Lana’s constant destruction of women’s self-empowerment.

Julianne (My Best Friend's Wedding)

This is a girl that could have gotten out of the zone if she wanted to, but when she decided it, it was too late. If stealing a flower van and chase someone else’s fiancé around the city doesn’t get you out of the zone, nothing will.

Molly Hooper (Sherlock)

This gal has actually made a long way since her starts in the early chapters. She started in some sort of phantom zone (because she wasn’t exactly Sherlock’s friends) and now she’s made it to a weird awkward asexual zone and even gain herself a kiss in the cheek, that must count for something, don’t you think?

Willow (Buffy the Vampire Slayer)

Some on-and-off awkward friends relationship and as if it weren’t complicated enough in normal life, it also involves werewolves, vampires and (god help us) cheerleaders.

Daisy (Downton Abbey)

While she put William in the zone (even though she married him), she got herself stuck on it with Alfred. Who had no interest in her because he liked Ivy, who didn’t like him back because she liked Jimmy, who only liked himself. Tricky, isn’t it? Does any love story would actually turn out well for this girl? (or for any of the characters in that program, really)

Phoebe Buffay (Friends)

Admit it, there was something weird going on with Joey there. There were a couple of kisses during the series and she openly admitted to have a crush on all her friends except Ross and Chandler.

Ok, she might have gotten one of the guys at the end (even though J.K. Rowling insists on ruining my entire childhood denying it) but you’ve got to admit that she was in the zone for many years. Even though you don’t like a guy, it is NEVER nice to hear him saying “I love her like a sister”.

Eponine (Les Miserables)

She’s used as a rank to measure friendzoneness, do I need to say more? This girl is the queen of the friendzone. She was so stuck in there that she literally had to die in order to step a bit out of it. No-one-is-safe-from-the-zone!
