14 Oh So Satisfying Screenshots Of People Finally Standing Up To Their Abusive Parents

    Everyone has a breaking point.

    1. This person who finally put their foot down and told their narcissistic mother they didn't feel safe with her:

Person telling their mother they can meet up but not at their house because it's a safe space and they don't feel safe around her

    2. This person who decided they were done taking shit from their abusive father:

Father tells child not to call him 'cause the child didn't respond to his text, and child says that's fine because they put up with the father's shit long enough and mentions the trauma of their teen years
Continuation of conversation, with child rejecting their father's "guilt trip" and saying he shouldn't call — just text — because the child doesn't want to hear his anger when they're trying to enjoy their 20s

    3. This person who told their transphobic father to either embrace their true identity or get the hell out of their life:

Father telling his child he can't support their "trans journey" and it's "a cause of a lot of" their issues, and child saying they're trans whether he likes it or not and "I'm not your little girl"
Continuation of conversation, with child saying they have issues because they're in the wrong body and don't have their father's support, and father saying if they'd listen to him, they'd be happy and at peace
Father continues text about how God gave him his child to "love and protect" and "guide in the right path," but says he will not "support your wrong decisions and your decision to be trans"
Child responds by saying "It's not a decision, I would rather go to hell than live a lie" and their issues aren't about being trans but having dysphoria related to living in the wrong body and a lack of support
Child goes on to tell their father not to "wait around for me to become the perfect Stepford daughter — this is me, I am a boy"

    4. This person who called out their mom for being homophobic toward them:

Daughter says their mother called them a dyke and pulled them out of school at 14, and mother says the child wasn't going to date at 14

    5. This person who didn't stand for it when their mom threatened to get rid of their animals:

Mother saying she's getting rid of the animals and not feeding them after child says she has school and can't come that week
Continuation of conversation, with child telling mother to either treat them with respect or don't talk to them, and to act their age

    6. This person who refused to let his father bully him after he refused to give him money from a bank account that's in his name:

Son tells father that they were relying on money to pay for an upcoming trip and then says never mind, they'll just pay back their traveling companion (whose birthday it is), and father responds with laugh emoji and "love the attempt of guilt though"
Child calling out dad for being condescending and approaching every conversation from a place of superiority and judgment, and father asking if he's unraveling
Dad says he and the mother did a great job raising the child, and child says the father was a "domineering bully" and the child is working on himself
Child says it's time the father turned the magnifying glass on himself and figure out why his children can't wait to leave home

    7. This person who finally let loose on their abusive father (and received an oh-so-predictable response):

    8. This person who didn't let their mom's homophobia (over a photo of them and their girlfriend) rain on their parade:

Mother responds to photo of child with their girlfriend by saying it's nothing to flaunt and do they want a guy, and child says it is something to flaunt because they're the happiest they've ever been

    9. This person who stood up to their mom for never respecting their boundaries:

    10. This person who let their mom have it after she said she wouldn't attend their wedding because it wasn't in a church:

Mother says she can't attend child's wedding because she's Catholic, and when child says they're not, mother says the child is Catholic too

    11. And this person who didn't let their mom pressure them into going to church in general:

Mother insists that child come with her to church and says she's coming to child's apartment to pick up the child on Sunday, and child says they're working all day and "have fun" trying to get in

    12. This person who stopped tolerating her mom's anti-vax rhetoric:

    13. This person who put their foot down about their unvaccinated mom visiting them while a new strain of the coronavirus was going around:

    14. And finally, this person who refused to let their manipulative mother push them around:

Mom says she feels last on child's list because they didn't send flight info, and when child says they were busy getting ready for the trip but they just sent it it, mom says mom's plate is way fuller than the child's
Child goes on to say that mom isn't being excluded, that they hadn't sent flight info to anyone, and mom says child should know her issues about air accidents and mom asks so little of the child and they need to be an adult
Mother says she's caring for three sick people and the child has never walked in her shoes, and child says that the mother comes at them every time there's a "slight, real or imagined"
Child says they're stepping away from the family for a while because every time they see their mother on the phone, they don't know if it's going to be nice or an explosion
