22 Dogs That Stole My Heart At The 2020 Beverly Hills Dog Show

♬ Ooooo heaven is a place on earth. ♬

A week before the COVID-19 pandemic shut down the whole country, I had the pleasure of attending the 2020 Beverly Hills Dog Show presented by Purina.

I can't tell you who won (you're gonna have to tune into the show on NBC this Sunday, May 17 from 8–10 p.m. ET to find out), but I CAN show you some of the marvelous angels I met on that fine day:

    1. Let's start with a celebridog...Doug the Pug! I snapped this shot while he was answering some questions on the red carpet.

And you best believe I got a selfie (kinda)!

    2. Oh wait, another celebridog!!! This time it's Gidget the Pug!

Gidget is another Instagram star known for her surfing skills. Look at this California girl go!

    3. Alright, now we're onto the lesser known legends. This is Dobis. He's a 250-pound mastiff who eats 12 cups of dog food a day.

    4. This is McConaughey. He's an English springer spaniel who had his ears wrapped to make sure they didn't get dirty before showtime. Fancy boy!

    5. And here's another English springer spaniel whose ears were protected by a very fashionable doggy bonnet!

    6. This is Maisy and Jane! They are American cocker spaniels who are retired from show business but decided to come and show their support.

    7. This is Coco Chanel. She's a black Russian terrier who got the pampering she deserved.

    8. This is Miss Granger and Tonks (yes, named after the Harry Potter characters). They are Irish wolfhounds and the gentlest giants I've ever met.

    9. I couldn't resist getting a pic with Miss Granger. Who's walking whom?

    10. This is Sloan. He's a vizsla who I locked eyes with from across the room. They're still burned into my soul.

    11. This is Creepy. He's an American hairless terrier — a brand-new dog breed that's only been around for four years!

    12. This is a bichon frise whose name I didn't catch, but she's an absolute vision.

    13. This is Audrey. She's a standard poodle. I want what she has.

    14. This is Spike. He's a mutt, and a well-known dog show mascot! It's impossible not to feel the spirit with this little guy around.

    15. This is Willow. She's a greyhound, i.e. skinny legend.

    16. This is Mister. He's a soft-coated wheaten terrier and I only want the best for him.

    17. This is a beautiful Samoyed who was delighted to be the star of a photo shoot.

    18. This is Dusty. He's a schipperke. I didn't know I needed a schipperke until I met him!

    19. This is Hella. She's a Xolo and wears her devilishly cool name very well.

    20. This is a long-haired dachshund who loved all the little kids as much as they loved her!

    21. These are two Australian shepherds who honestly should do some modeling on the side if they don't already.

    22. And this is a dalmatian who said "Mom, look how tall I am. Now, treat please!"

Remember to tune into NBC at 8 p.m. ET this Sunday, or stream it on NBC Sports! Kevin from The Office and Doug the Pug thoroughly enjoyed the show, and I know you will too!
