The Times Galadriel Made You Come Undone

All my friends with whom I've seen the LOTR and The Hobbit trilogies can attest to my outright and very audible delight when Galadriel is on screen. I present to you all those times that Galadriel made you sigh, pause, quiver, moan, gasp or screech with just an omniscient side-eye, a telepathic conversation or a smile.

Apart from her brief appearance in the prologue when the rings of power are divvied out, the first time we lay eyes upon the Lady of Lorien’s blurry form of pure starlight is in Lothlorien. She's pure mystery and magic. She's an element of wonder. Oh, Celeborn's talking?

Galadriel does not look up until she reads everyone's thoughts on Gandalf's sacrifice and announces it to her clearly-not-as-powerful husband. And it’s chilling because when we do see her eyes, she side-eyes directly into the camera and slowly moves her head to look straight into it, directly into our eyes, into our souls, into our heads. “GET OUT OF MY HEAD! No, no, no, stay! No! Go! I’m having thoughts you don’t need to know about. What are you doing to me?!”

When Galadriel starts speaking to the Fellowship

Instantly, we are familiar with her as the voice that narrated the prologue. It's an instant comfort, but it's a strange one, especially as she speaks to them telepathically one by one in a fluid manner, just as in all her mannerisms. And I absolutely lose all my will power to not melt.

Galadriel is the Oprah of Middle-earth, giving gifts to all her visitors. When Gimli only asks to "look upon the Lady of Galadhrim one last time for she is fairer than all the jewels beneath the Earth," she smiles and laughs. And it's like the sweetest bells chiming.

She taps into her darkness to defeat Sauron, which is again tested with the Ring. She lets go of her peaceful nature to do what must be done, despite losing herself.

With what can only be described as my “quivering intake of breath”, Galadriel goes all out terrible queen on Sauron’s ass and banishes him back to Mordor, cleansing Dol Goldur of darkness.
