Celebrities Who Died While Filming

Many of our favorite celebrities put their lives into their work, so much so that some have died doing what they love. Here are 10 celebs who passed away while in the process of filming projects.

1. Heather Ledger

On January 22, 2008, he was found dead in his Manhattan apartment from a drug overdose and at the time he was in the middle of shooting "The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus"

2. Brandon Lee

On March 31, 1993 he was killed in a stunt accident on the set of "The Crow"

3. River Phoenix

On October 31, 1993, he died of a drug overdose outside The Viper Room in Hollywood. At the time he was in the middle of filming "Dark Blood"

4. John Candy

On March 4, 1994, he died from a heart attack while sleeping. At the time he was filming "Wagons East!"

5. Cory Monteith

On July 13, 2013, he was found dead in his Vancouver hotel room. He was in the middle of filming GLEE

6. John Ritter

On September 11, 2003, He suffered from an aortic dissection caused by a previously undiagnosed congenital heart defect. At the time he was on the set of "8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter."

7. Béla Lugosi

On August 16, 1956, he died from a heart attack while in the middle of filming "Plan 9 from Outer Space."

8. Jon-Erik Hexum

On October 18, 1984, he shot himself in the head with a .44 magnum handgun loaded with a blank round while filming the TV show "Cover Up."

9. Vic Morrow

On July 23, 1982, he died when a helicopter hovering about 25 feet above crashed on top of him while he was filming a war scene for "Twilight Zone: The Movie"

10. David Strickland

On March 22, 1999, he committed suicide by hanging himself in a Las Vegas hotel room. At the time he was in the middle of filming the sitcom "Suddenly Susan".
