16 Things Canadians Look Forward To Every Spring

It's 6 degrees. I'm digging out the BBQ.

After a long, cold winter, Canadians wake up one morning to a rumour that spring is in the air.

We should know better than to believe it. I mean, spring is really a nonseason in Canada.

1. That first day when it's like 5 degrees and you get overexcited and wear shorts.

2. When you go outside and it doesn't hurt to breathe.

3. Also, when you step outside and your face isn't immediately assaulted with stinging cold air.

4. Digging out the BBQ for that first sweet taste of spring.

5. Shaking off the weight of winter coats.

6. Stashing this in the garage.

7. Being able to walk down a sidewalk without this being a regular occurence.

8. When the temperature creeps up to 15 degrees and you open your windows for the first time this year.

9. This glorious sight.

10. When you leave work and it's still bright out.

11. The NHL Playoffs.

12. Opening up the cottage for the first time this season.

13. And soaking up the absolute beauty of the Canadian outdoors.

14. Patios. Canadians love patios in spring.

15. May Long Weekend, aka the official spring finale and kickoff to the "not really working all summer" season.

16. And its requisite overly ambitious camping trip.

Happy Moderately Spring-Like Season, Canada!
