A Velveeta Nail Polish Set Just Dropped, And Honestly, I Kinda Love It

    Cheesy, creamy, AND smooth.

If you're anything like me and you love mac 'n' cheese, then I have some KIND OF exciting news for you. Velveeta (yes, king of processed cheese, Velveeta) has just launched its first-ever nail polish collection. (AND I BET YOU DIDN'T HAVE THAT ON YOUR 2022 BINGO CARD!)

In partnership with Nails Inc., the Velveeta "Pinkies Out Polish" is a fun new collection that includes a nail polish duo and even nail stickers (more on that in a second).

And, YES, the nail polish is cheese-scented. 👀👀👀

The red and yellow nail polish duo ($15) even has fun names: “La Dolce Velveeta" (the yellow one) and “Finger Food” (the red one). Here's what they look like IRL in the box...

One box holds small jars of both nail polish

...as well as out of the box:

The bottles of nail polish feature an image of melting cheese on the tops

The packaging is cute, simple, to the point...but I know that's not why you're here. You wanna know what it looks like AND if it REALLY does smell like cheese.

So, DUH, I tested them out for you.

💅💅 Now, I am a fan of painting my nails now and again, but I am obviously not a professional. So, if you take issue with the way my nails look (sorry, I don't have ~beautiful~ nails) or how good/bad my nail-painting skills are, please be kind. 🙏🙏

    Anyway, on to the test!!!

I decided to try the classic yellow, Velveeta cheese–colored "La Dolce Velveeta" first. After I opened the bottle, I immediately took a whiff to see if I could smell this alleged cheese scent. I fully expected to get a strong hit of CHEESY GOODNESS, but sadly, all I got was the normal, chemical-y smell of nail polish. (Maybe it would smell more like cheese after application?!)

Now, I am not familiar with Nails Inc.'s products, but if this Velveeta nail polish is any indicator of what they usually make, I am SERIOUSLY impressed. This nail polish is no joke. It was a lot thicker than I expected, and the application felt really smooth. It has a really nice brush, and I found it easy to cover my nails with only one or two strokes. I mean, the label on the bottle literally says "creamy smooth nails," and that is EXACTLY what this nail polish is. Creamy and smooth.

Here's what one coat of the yellow looked like:

The nails polish looks thick and shiny

I could still see the lunula (the white part of my nails), so I decided to put on a second coat.

Here's how it looked after the second coat:

The nails are more fully covered now, but the polish still looks thick and shiny

    Much better!

And here's my application of "Finger Food" (i.e. the red color), which was even more stunning. Honestly, I think I preferred this color to the yellow one?

I guess it's just because this is a darker color, but I didn't bother putting on a second coat of this one because it already looked perfect (and I couldn't see the lunula!).

The nails look fully covered, and once again the polish is thick and shiny

Although, RIP to my right hand, which always gets the short end of the stick when it comes to painting my nails (since I am right handed). LOL!

Here's how they looked side by side:

Now...as for this alleged CHEESE SCENT. I truly thought these would smell super cheesy, but for better or worse, they do not. There is definitely a very, very mild scent after you put on the nail polish and let it dry, but I'd say it almost smells more sweet than cheesy? If anything, it smelled a lot like a boxed mac 'n' cheese, but again...it was SUPER mild. Either way, it's actually a pretty pleasant smell, and I found myself sniffing my nails several times after they dried LOL.

As I mentioned, the collection also includes nail stickers. They're kinda silly stickers, but it's all in the name of fun!

The stickers include images of melting cheese and the words "drip" and "creamy"

I don't usually use nail stickers, but...when in Rome! Again, to my surprise, I actually ended up lowkey loving them? (Especially the drippy gold one?!).

One of the stickers makes it look like cheese is dripping down the nail, while another looks like a shell of macaroni

    Final thoughts:

I can't believe I am saying this, but this Velveeta nail polish is actually really impressive. It's high-quality nail polish with a pleasant scent and, honestly, the whole concept is just really fun.

At $15 for the set, it's not the ~cheapest~ nail polish out there, but given the quality, I think it's actually well worth the money. So, if you love fun nail polish colors AND you love cheese, I honestly think you'll love this collection.

The Velveeta "Pinkies Out Polish" collection is available starting today exclusively on NailsInc.com while supplies last!
