There's A REALLY Good Theory About The Night King Going Around And It Will Wreck You

The Battle of Winterfell may not end up being what we expect. H/T Mashable

Before we get going here, a fair warning: Spoilers lie ahead. So if you want to go into Episode 3 of Game of Thrones as blank as Bran's stare...

For the rest of you, let's talk about the Night King and the upcoming Battle of Winterfell.

So, I recently read this popular Reddit theory about the Night King's ACTUAL plans to take over Westeros and, TBH, it gave me chills. Basically — according to redditor qp0n — THE NIGHT KING WILL NOT BE AT THE BATTLE OF WINTERFELL...

...BECAUSE HE'S ON HIS WAY TO KING'S LANDING.

🔥🔥🔥 Here's why it checks out: 🔥🔥🔥

First of all, it was probably no mistake that at the end of the last episode, we did NOT see the Night King, but only his White Walkers, leading the army of wights.

In fact, we haven't seen the Night King AT ALL so far this season.

The Night King isn't stupid — he knows it does not make sense to challenge TWO dragons with his one wight dragon.

And his army of White Walkers and wights is definitely big enough to split up, even in part.

In fact, the Battle of Winterfell would be the perfect "distraction" for him to travel relatively unnoticed down to King's Landing.

Plus, strategically, it would make more sense to go to King's Landing — home to over a million people, as we learned in Season 7 — to raise an EVEN BIGGER undead army.

Now, let's jump WAY back to Season 2, Episode 10, "Valar Morghulis." Remember how Daenerys had a vision of the Throne Room at King's Landing, destroyed and covered in...SNOW? This may have very well been a vision of the future we're talking about.

And then, in Season 4, Episode 2, "The Lion and the Rose," Bran had a vision of a dragon's shadow flying over King's Landing.

And finally, since Bran was "marked" by the Night King, there really is no RUSH for the Night King to get to him first.

I will say, the one silver lining is that Cersei sent Bronn north in the first episode this season, so there's a chance he'd spot the Night King, Viserion, and the army heading south.
