The Battle of Winterfell may not end up being what we expect. H/T Mashable
According to Daenerys in Season 7, Episode 7, "The Dragon and the Wolf," there were at least 100,000 in the Night King's army — and this was before they broke through the Wall at the end of last season. Since then, we know they've killed everyone at the Last Hearth (Season 8, Episode 1), so it's definitely bigger. PLUS the Night King could've resurrected many more along the way.
They'd definitely make it there before anyone at Winterfell realized what was happening.
PLUS the Golden Company's 20,000 men, 2,000 horses, and ZERO elephants (LOL).
Was she experiencing a post–Night King King's Landing? And was this vision telling her/us she'll never sit on the Iron Throne? MAKES SENSE TO ME.
As well as visions of the same snow-covered Throne Room that Dany saw, the Night King looking at him through ice, and many other things we've already seen come to pass. Could this actually have been the Night King riding Viserion?
He can track him down later...after destroying King's Landing.
But would he race to Winterfell or back to King's Landing first? My money's on Winterfell...or, at least, what will be left of it.
