Doctor Sleep stars Ewan McGregor as a grown-up Danny Torrance and takes place 40 years after his terrifying stay at the Overlook Hotel in The Shining.

    Warner Bros.

Still scarred by the trauma he endured as a child at the Overlook, Danny (now Dan Torrance) is looking to find peace. But that peace is shattered when he encounters Abra, a teenager who, like Dan, has the extrasensory gift known as the “shine.”

    A little side-by-side for funsies:

    Warner Bros.

And for anyone familiar with Stanley Kubrick's legendary 1980 adaptation of The Shining, there are A LOT of great callbacks to it in the teaser trailer...

Like the unnerving "REDRUM" message Danny wrote with his mother's lipstick.

    Warner Bros.

Literally MURDER written on the wall.

This SUPER-CREEPY bathtub scene of the lady in Room 237.

    Warner Bros.

    Don't kiss her.

The scary Grady twins from the hallway:

    Warner Bros.

    "Come play with us, Danny!"

And, of course, the doorway Jack Torrance (Jack Nicholson) smashed through with an ax and said, "Heeeeeere's Johnny!"

    Warner Bros.

And even the MUSIC from The Shining makes an audible cameo at the end of the teaser. IT'S SO WONDERFULLY CREEPY.

    Warner Bros.

Doctor Sleep is set to come out in North America on Nov. 8 and globally beginning Oct. 30!
