UK sandwiches > US sandwiches.
If you don't know what a Scotch egg is, it's just a hard- or soft-boiled egg wrapped in sausage meat, coated in bread crumbs, and baked or deep-fried. Basically, they're yummy AF, but a heck of a lot of work to make yourself.
White bread, butter, big ol' chips, and some ketchup is a carb overload you probably didn't know you needed in your life until right now.
But ya know we're talking about the UK here, so their bacon is not like American-style bacon, but more like Canadian bacon.
This is god's food. This wonderful baked treat originates from (where else) Cornwall and contains beef, potato, turnip, onions, and YUMMINESS. I literally can't think of an American equivalent.
Shortbread cookies filled with strawberry filling? UH YEAHHH.
OK, Nando's has actually crossed the pond and there are a few locations in the US, but they're only in Maryland, Virginia, Illinois, and Washington, DC. But I live in California, so...let's hope they keep growing stateside!
Who knew you could make sausage wrapped in puff pastry a dozen different ways? (I didn't until I lived in the UK!) Also, for the record, sausages in the UK are better than they are in the US; that's just plain fact.
I am the first to admit deep-fried sausage is super phallic-looking, particularly when you're shoving this bad boy in your mouth. But add some vinegar and red sauce (ketchup) and WHO GIVES A FUCK? It's so, so good.
The best thing you can eat on a Sunday morning.
This way your toast doesn't get SOGGY on one side! CLEVER AND CUTE.
This is a very cheap and very simple meal or even snack, but Heinz baked beans are so good! WHY DON'T WE HAVE THIS IN THE US?!
Not like, you know, some random American chain restaurant that's using frozen fish!
Kinda trashy? Yeah. Traditional as heck? YES.
I'm a tea > coffee person. DON'T @ ME.
I've seen this in grocery stores here in America, but, like, it should be a STAPLE at restaurants!
I just happen to love coronation chicken the best. And YEAH, that's me on the right. LOL, "Hi!"
What is Lilt, you say? It's a pineapple grapefruit soda and it is SO. DAMN. REFRESHING. The closest thing we have to it is Squirt, but it's STILL not as good as Lilt!!!
Again, I know you can get some of this stuff in the US, but not, like, EVERYWHERE or EVERYTHING.
