What is it about mannequins that is inherently creepy? Maybe it's because they are essentially giant dolls with endlessly staring eyes, a reflection of the immobility at the heart of the human condition. perhaps it is not the mannequins themselves who are creepy, but instead the fear of what they say about us humans.

Hipster Bandito Mannequin

A legless torso with defined abs, suspended uncannily over a box with shipping label blurred out. Why is there so much tequila on that filing cabinet next to you? Steely-eyed gaze and moustace, looks brooding, pensive and like a coiled rattlesnake of anger about to strike. Church Lady /Bad Girl Mannequin

This lady mannequin has a "church" vibe to me, like she is praying silently at the entrance of this store in DC (exhibit A is the cut off "best of DC" award above her head). Nonetheless, there is a definite anime chick/hyperfemme being hidden beneath that modest purple sweater. I guess like all church girls, she's got some hidden desires waiting to be unleashed by a single puff of a marijuana cigarette.
