These ads for Greenpeace urging people to sign an online petition to save our seas won a Gold Lion at Cannes back in 2009. That’s not Photoshop: the wonderful colored-pencil sculptures of underwater life are by South African artist Jennifer Maestre. Now, a little voice in my head said, “but you don’t sign petitions with colored pencils.” True. But then I stabbed myself in the head with a pen because sometimes, it’s OK to not be so fucking literal.
The gorgeous ads actually inspired me to go online and sign.
Why don’t you do the same.
- The Trump administration wants to send immigrants caught at the southern US border to Mexico even if they're not from the country.
- Several states will keep enforcing bans against transgender discrimination in schools after Trump withdrew guidelines protecting students.
- Police arrested at least 10 people on Wednesday as they began clearing out protester camps at the Dakota Access Pipeline site.
- And people with disabilities are having their photos stolen and Facebook isn't helping them.
