12 British Artists You Didn't Know Graduated From The Same School

It's called The BRIT School for Performing Arts and Technology and it's list of musical alumni is impressive. You might know a few.

12. Imogen Heap

She didn't always get along with her teachers so she taught herself sequencing, music engineering, sampling and production on Atari computers—all before even attending BRIT.

10. Floetry

Marsha studied Business and Finance at the school while Natalie studied Performance and Media Art. To date, they have five Grammy Nomination to their name.

9. Leona Lewis

Lewis actually left the school at the age of 17 to "get out there" and pursue her career in music. She later went on to win the third season of The X Factor.

Noisettes is actually guitarist Dan Smith's and singer Shingai Shoniwa's second band together after meeting at BRIT. With great press and a notoriously rowdy live set—they seem to be doing just fine.

Apparently Kate wanted to pursue acting after graduating from BRIT, but she got rejected from most of the schools she applied to. No worries, though—everything worked out just fine.

Jordan studied Media and Harley studied Theatre, but they have since graduated and moved on to collaborating with artists like Pharrell Williams.

Long before BRIT and jam sessions with Jessie J, Adele used to impersonate the Spice Girls at dinner parties for her family as a young girl. Same, girl. Same.

After meeting at BRIT, the group booked their first gig simply because the landlord liked their hats. They didn't even have a demo at the time.

1. Amy Winehouse

Long before her enormous success and tragic death, she, like everyone else on this list, attended BRIT. But prior to that, she founded a short-lived rap group called Sweet 'n' Sour inspired by the rap group Salt-N-Pepa. She was Sour to her best friend's Sweet. RIP Sour. You are missed.
