Five Web Series You're Sleeping On

And there are actually people of color in them. Starring! I KNOW!

There is so little in the way of quality programming featuring people of color on t.v. these days that it's refreshing to see some nuanced programming online. It doesn't hurt that it's free! Here are 5 web series that should be on television.

    1. Roomieloverfriends

I've been following this show since Day 1, and I'm obsessed with Tamiko and cutie Jay. As the title suggests, this show follows the relationship of two roommates and exemplifies when having a roommate of the opposite sex goes awry.

    2. K-Town

I'm not a huge fan of reality television, but this show actually doesn't make me want to throw up! Issa Rae describes it as "Asians gone ratchet". All there.

    3. Easy Willy B

This show had me at the opening salsa number. Part Broadway show and part sitcom, Easy Willy B follows a Latino community in Bushwick, Brooklyn.

    4. The Couple

Okay, I kind of cheated with this one. The Couple was actually already picked up by HBO, but you can (and should) catch the beginning on Youtube! I see myself in far more of these episodes than I'd like to admit.

    5. Christine

This 12 episode mini-series chronicles one woman's night at a speed-dating event. America Ferrera stars. I mean, need I say more?
