I’m an early adopter. I can’t help it. I love the idea of holding something in my hands that is new and has all the potential of a just-born baby. If it happens to be all shiny, that’s even better.

And although there is a part of me that still misses Steve, is not 100% sure about how ‘cool’ Apple still is at the moment and despite all my reservations I will probably still get an iPhone 6 - I can’t help but have that same ‘early-adopter-feeling’ about the Apple Watch.

Sure, design and interface wise, I still have questions but 84mins into the recent Apple Event, they demo the maps function on the Apple Watch, where the phone itself sends you ‘tactic feedback’ to direct you between Point A and Point B.

“Now while you’re walking, Apple Watch will give you taptic feedback on each turn so you know whether it’s time to turn left or turn right.”

In simple terms through small ‘taps’ from the watch you will know which way to turn… so if touch-based interfaces made things more personal, then this is potentially the start of a whole new way of interacting - a way that is even more seamless or ‘intimate’ than before.

I still have in a drawer some where the 1st Gen iPod Touch which was released a mere 7 years ago - think about how far things have progressed since then.

Now throw in a leather jacket, some crazy-almost afro hair and a talking car and I’m definitely in…
