    Life was always a bit different growing up as a 1st generation Chinese kid in a English speaking country...

    1. Bowl haircuts were cool

    2. Your friends would always want you to teach them how to use chopsticks

    3. But they would never be able to reach the levels of your mastery

    4. If relatives said “I’ve bought you some lunch” they meant this

    5. Clothes were always optional for household tasks like cooking and food prep.

    6. In restaurants, you got used to seeing fishtanks...

    7. And fish heads...

    8. You know who this guy is...

    9. This apparently cured everything from cuts, bruises, aches, pains… especially when eaten...

    10. You often heard the sound of these late into the night...

    11. Despite living in another country, this always made you feel proud.

    12. A family trip to a show looked like this.
