Couple Things You Probably Didn't Know About The Cheesecake Factory

The nicely polished thin glass wall separating you from cheesecake heaven is a thick wall full of secrets, aka the hair of Gretchen Wieners. Here's a first hand view from someone who devoted blood, sweat, and forced smiles behind the marble counters of The Cheesecake Factory Bakery.

The reason why the portions are so big, is because each entree on the menu is meant for two people!

1. Portion control?

Everyone knows the glorious moment when they see their server walk towards them with their food. Fingers crossed, you hope with every ounce in your being that they're bringing it to your table. The server approaches your table, and placed in front of you is a feast of food.

2. Really REALLY guilty pleasure

After avoiding eye contact with the list of nutritional information on each of the cheesecake wrappers for many days, I sadly caught glimpse of a terrifying calorie count. In just ONE slice of cheesecake, is more than a day's worth of calories.

3. National Cheesecake Weekend

The phrase, "National Cheesecake Weekend," sounds all good and swell to the ears of a commoner. To someone who's worked in the bakery of a Cheesecake Factory either in the past or currently, it can make them recall horrible visions of war memories.

From the moment the doors open in the morning, the entire weekend advertised with half off cheesecakes looks very similar to Walmart opening it's doors on Black Friday.

For real though

People from all corners of the land flock to the grand doors of the Factory to get their coveted slices of cheesecake. So, instead of paying a fortune for full priced cheesecake, they spend half a fortune waiting in line for hours out the door.

4. The actual reality

Applying for a job at The Cheesecake Factory can bring in a lot of cash but there's gotta be a catch right?

Right. To obtain a job as a server, you need to memorize every single item listed on the menu along with the detailed description of each item. Leaving you like Lindsey.

5. The sad truth...

What might be the biggest unknown fact about the good ole Factory, is that the cheesecake isn't actually made in store.

6. When Oprah found out

Each slice of cheesecake is shipped in...from an actual factory that makes cheesecake (aka a literal cheesecake factory).
