    Russian Prime Minister Calls For Release Of Pussy Riot

    The Russian Prime Minister has called for three members of the punk band Pussy Riot to be freed. Release imminent. Let freedom ring.

    Release is imminent for the three members of Pussy Riot who are currently being held in jail on "hooliganism driven by religious hatred," as Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has called for their release. Further prison time would be "unproductive," Medvedev said.

    The women have already spent 5 months in jail before being convicted in August. According to the Associated Press: "Medvedev's comments on Wednesday could signal the band members' imminent release as their case comes up for appeal on Oct. 1."
