Dear America, We Aren't So Bad

Happy 4th of July! There is a lot of hate going around these days and America seems to get the brunt of the insult. Chin up Americans, despite what you've heard America is not the villain of the west, and here is why.

1. Despite recent (ridiculous) propositions about immigration, America really IS the melting pot of the world, boasting more immigrants than any other country, an amazing 46627102 immigrants call America home as of 2015. Germany has the second largest immigrant population. You go Germany!

2. America likes to help out. We offer up 35 BILLION dollars in foreign aid (not including charities!)

3. And as for charitable giving/actions the US ranks at #2. According to the National Center for Charitable Statistics (NCCS), more than 1.5 million nonprofit organizations are registered in the U.S. Also, the World Giving Index found that Americans are the most likely IN THE WORLD to help a stranger.

4. We boast the best Universities in the world!

The U.S. is the top-performing country for 2016, leading the world with 181 ranked institutions. China, while in second place, was far behind with 57 ranked universities, says USNEWS

5. Religious Freedom

No beheadings here, practice as you wish or not at all. Reincarnation? We're cool with that. Born again Christian? We're cool with that.
