We hope you love the products we recommend! Just so you know, BuzzFeed may collect a small share of sales from the links on this page.

1. Watch Dear White People.

Netflix

Following on from where the film left off (though you can watch the series without seeing the film first), this new Amazon series tackles the everyday experience of black students at a prestigious college. Packed with wink-nudge humour and razor-sharp observations about institutional racism and microaggressions (and including an episode directed by Moonlight director Barry Jenkins), Dear White People is an essential primer on being woke, and you'll probably find yourself clapping along when characters point out injustices.

Watch it on Netflix.

Seen it? Then check out American Gods on Amazon Prime Video.

2. Read I Have No Secrets by Penny Joelson.

Sian Butcher / Rebecca Hendin / Tim Lane / BuzzFeed

Out this week, Penny Joelson's debut YA book follows Jemma, a 14-year-old with severe cerebral palsy. Though she's unable to communicate or move, Jemma is faced with uncovering a dangerous secret that she must figure out how to handle.

3. Listen to this short story by Rivers of London author Ben Aaronovitch.

Audible

In this Audible Exclusive short story, something spooky is happening at the British Library, and DC Peter Grant, the hero of Aaronovitch's Rivers of London novels, will have to get to the bottom of it. Coming it at a half-hour, the story is a perfect way to liven up your commute.

Get it for free from Audible.

Also please listen to this Modern Love essay about one gay high schooler's experience taking all his female friends to prom, read by The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt's Titus Burgess.

4. Download Robot Unicorn Attack 3.

Adult Swim

I've been playing this game since its desktop days, and now Robot Unicorn Attack, has just launched the third version of its mobile app that allows you to build running teams of three unicorns for every attack. Super fun and with a killer soundtrack as always.

Get it on iTunes and Android.

Or gain some bragging rights with Crosswords With Friends.

5. Cook this chocolate braid.

This dangerously simple dessert is one of my favourite things to make. It takes 20 minutes but looks fancy as fuck, and I can't recommend it enough. I've already made it twice this month. (Protip: I use two chocolate bars stacked on top of each other instead of just one. Perfect.)

Recipe here.

6. Try adding some bright new personality to your space.

Last weekend I bought this adorable little lightbox from Typo for £12, which comes with three pre-made slides plus three customisable ones and stickers. You can't see it here, but I added some stripes of cactus print washi tape as a final touch. It made a great little afternoon project and has really brightened up my bedroom.
