“People just get excited, and it can be dangerous.”

Billie Eilish spoke out about the "dangerous" trend of fans throwing things at concerts.

As you've probably seen, concertgoers have hurled various objects at artists lately, causing disruptions to their shows and, in some cases, even injuries.

Bebe Rexha was the first to experience the phenomenon this summer when a fan hit her in the face with their phone.

Then it continued with incidents involving Pink, Ava Max, Drake, Kelsea Ballerini, Lil Nas X, and Harry Styles.

But, as Billie points out, it's not a new thing.

“I’ve been getting hit onstage with things for, like, literally, six years, I don’t know why this is, like, new,” the singer told the Hollywood Reporter at the LA premiere of Barbie last week, where she was joined by her producer brother Finneas. “People just get excited, and it can be dangerous.”

Finneas figured that fans might throw things to get an artist's attention — not because they want to hurt them. But Billie said she finds it “absolutely infuriating" either way.

“I have mixed feelings about it, because when you’re up there, it blows," she continued. "But you know it’s out of love and they’re just trying to give you something. You’re in a vulnerable position, but I’ve been getting hit with stuff for, like, years.”

Billie — who was previously hit with plastic boobs and had a ring stolen at a concert — then ended off with a message to fans. “Don’t throw things onstage," she shared, "but we love you; it’s very sweet.”
