7 Lessons from Twitter's Smartest Celebrities

Time recently listed the 500 most followed celebrities on Twitter by the average reading level of their tweets. Cue pearls of wisdom from some standout smarties.

This week Time magazine revealed that they're no better than the rest of us, trawling celebrities' Twitter accounts in an attempt to gauge their intelligence. A "commonly used reading comprehension test" separated the sheep from the goats and nominated the likes of Leo DiCaprio, Jersey Shore's JWOWW and Paris Hilton as Twitter's most intelligent stars.

In the interest of #smartz, I've gleaned some life lessons from the wisest people ever to get that little blue and white tick of authenticity. Be sure to take notes - knowledge is power!

Leonardo DiCaprio

Apparently you need an 8th grade education to read Leo's tweets, so let me spell out his wisdom for you: if you can't win an Oscar, just save the environment instead! And, hey, if they wanna give you a Nobel Peace Prize for it, the ball's in their court - but it's really all about the whales.

Justin Bieber's mum probably didn't even want to make it onto Time's list of 500 most followed Twitter accounts. Although she tweets some legit pearls of wisdom on the regs, this is probably the lesson that will go down in history: your parents don't want to hear from your horny fans.

Not to be outdone by former BFF Nicole, Paris matched her score of 6.4. Is there no A-list her name can't get her onto?? Actually, perhaps the key here is consistency - Paris tweets about 11:11 pretty much as often as she hits the tan salon.

Stephen Fry

Sometimes, it's not who you know. Stephen Fry is supposed by many to be a pretty smart guy, but his Twitter feed merited a mere 6.3 grade reading average. I guess just because Stephen Hawking is your BFF doesn't mean your tweets are smarter than Paris Hilton's.
