1. Two Words...Hot Vampires
Seriously why are ALL vampires so hot? Gone are the days of Nosferatu. Thank goodness right? Moonlight's vampires made you stare at the TV screen wishing Mick St. John would turn you into a vampire.
2. Josef was the BEST "sidekick" of all time
Josef was the whole package when it comes to the best friend character. He was hot, funny, and balanced out Mick with his lack of morals. He even had ringtone worthy quotes..yes I recorded his quotes and made ringtones out of them. Don't judge me :)
3. Totally badass female lead
Beth Turner was the coolest! We first met her she was investigating a murder and ended up in a creepy basement with who she thought was the murderer. Plus she hangs around vampires including the ex husband of the woman that kidnapped her as a child. Oh yeah and fell in love with that man. She always put herself right in the middle of the action, deliberately.
4. A villain who was so evil, but it was hard to hate her
We can't deny Coraline was a complete psychopath. I mean she kidnapped a little girl so she could have a family with her then husband Mick. She managed to wiggle herself back into their lives later on even though Mick was certain he had killed her. Even though she had a few screws loose she was still enticing. Props to Shannyn Sossamon for making Coraline AWESOME. (Side note she even inspired my fleur de lis tattoo)
5. It was Vampire Diaries meets CSI
EVERYONE loves a good crime drama and at the base of it Moonlight was a crime show with online news reporter Beth Turner turning into a detective solving crimes in LA with her trusty vampire at her side.
6. It was the best love story on TV
Mick killed his then wife to save Beth when she was a little girl. He then watched her during her life to protect her. Finally they met and fell in love even though there was a guy in the way...RIP Josh. Mick was her guardian angel. If you didn't cry in that scene you need to reevaluate your life...
7. Beth pretty much worked at Buzzfeed
Beth worked for a very trendy online news/tabloid outlet. The offices were cool and was in L.A.
8. They had the best witty one liners
9. Mick had the coolest apartment/office
I'm not going to lie I am still not sure if his office and apartment was all in one area or separated, but it was so cool. He had that awesome fireplace and his stairs make me think of a swanky New York apartment. It was huge modern and made me jealous.
10. The finale was heartbreaking and perfect all at the same time
Ugh that final scene where Mick leaves pauses for a brief moment just enough to see his emotions then turns back to go to Beth. Let the tears fall. It was the perfect ending. I didn't want it to end and now I have a million questions, but I guess I will have to be ok with the fact they are together and imagine the best.
