Is there really a difference between men and women sports broadcasters?

Woohoo for pre-season footbal...not like the season isn't an adequate length already..

I like football...I really do, but pre-season? C'mon really?

I grew up watching football (Woot Woot go 49ers!...yes go ahead tell me how awful their season will be this year)

Throughout my years of watching games I've noticed a common trend...men seem to wince every time a woman who is not a cheerleader pops up on the screen.

Does this make you queasy guys? A woman standing on the sidelines interviewing a player mic in hand, hair and make up all done up. Does that bother you?

Most guys it does.


Now I am NOT going t call you out for being a sexist because that's a cheap shot and then I'll get the paragraph long rebuttal from guys telling me why not grow out my armpit hair, hate on men and be the AWFUL TERRIBLE feminist that I am.
Let's face it that's exactly what would happen...

Seriously though no one else can get away with saying things like...

"Hey, the offensive linemen are the biggest guys on the field, they're bigger than everybody else, and that's what makes them the biggest guys on the field."


Or...


"The best way to gain more yards is advance the ball down the field from the line of scrimmage."


But guess what people LOVE him
Can you imagine if Erin Andrews said something like that? People (mostly men) would say "See! That's why she doesn't belong there"


Kinda sorta a double standard no?


I was watching an Eagles game the other night (calm down Cowboys fans) the announcers didn't have anything better to say so they started talking about how much they love Wawa. For all of you who aren't blessed enough to have a Wawa near them I apologize. Yes, Wawa is the BEST, but is that quality commentating?


Absolutely not!


Again imagine Molly Qerim started talking about her undying love of Starbucks...probably wouldn't go over so well.


So guys next time your watching sports chill out if you see a hot chick talking about the game...trust me they know what they're talking about...
