25 Ways You Know You're In Sigma Alpha Omega

We love our SAO sisters. But, we all have our fair shares of quirks and well, ... weird things. Here's a list of some things you might be (or have been) guilty of while being a sister.

25. You hug - a lot.

Everyone likes hugs. Okay, well not everybody. Like it or not, girls in SAO will hug you. Oh, did I just see you in class earlier? Doesn't matter, give me a hug.

24. You hashtag everything, statuses, Instagram, Twitter, whatever with #dovelove.

Everything is #dovelove. Everything. You say it, hashtag it, and hand signal it.

23. When it's your birthday, expect a long description of your friendship and copious amount of picstitch collages.

Let me show you how much I love you by posting your selfies that you thought you had only sent to me but actually, I'll put them on facebook! There's nothing that says "I love you" more than collages and paragraphs saying how much I love you.

22. During recruitment, it was hard for you to keep secrets.

Honestly, how does someone expect me to not let one little detail out? Don't ask me why you HAVE to wear a black dress on that particular day. I'm just as clueless as you.

21. Speaking of recruitment, scheduling interviews can get hectic.

Ever try interviewing 10 girls in less than three hours? Not a good idea. Oh, and maybe you've eaten more Chic-fil-a then you've ever wanted. Sorry, Dining Dollars, but you'll probably be used up by November.

20. Maybe interviews were a little awkward.

For the less socially inclined, coming up with things to talk about was a task. Interesting fact? Uh, I have a dog. What do I do in my free time? Netflix?

19. You've celebrated when you got done with the candidate process.

You love your sisters dearly and it was fun getting to know them better but there's no feeling better than that last signature.

18. When you got your big, it was probably a life changing moment.

Maybe you didn't know your big or little beforehand or maybe you did. But, from that day on, getting to know them and grow with them has been a great experience.

17. When you went to your first sister retreat, you shared hearfelt stories (and maybe some tears.)

Your fellow sisters are human so we all go through some pretty tough stuff. Also, you probably figured out that some of them snore. Either way, you get close. Real close.

16. You craft for your big or little.

You might be good at it or you might not. But, crafting is an essential. There's probably SAO letters all over your walls. Even if you're big or little ain't so good at it, you still appreciate it.

15. Speaking of crafting, you probably have a pinterest board dedicated to it.

Pinterest is life. How else are you gonna hand-paint that Lily Pulitzer board? Or figure out all the unique phrases to express love for your little? Or find ways to paint that bible verse? This is what Pinterest is for.

14. You are convinced that you have the best big or little.

They're your rock. Your confidant. That shoulder to cry on. That ride to chapter. The one you call yours.

13. You see your fellow sisters at Blackbird.

Walk into Blackbird and you'll probably see at least two sisters. Blackbird is the place for heart to hearts, catching up or just silent studying. But some of them are literally always there. Do they live there or something?

12. Actually, you run into your sisters everywhere.

We're one of the smaller sororities but you probably see one of your sisters every day whether you're trying to or not. The good thing is that since we're small, you know them by name.

11. You got down with your girls at formal.

Getting yourself all dolled up, putting on pretty dresses, and dancing with your sisters is always a great time. Even if you didn't have a date, there's always your big or little.

Even if you can't dance and you just stuck to one move. It's okay, we're not judging.

10. You probably live with at least one of your sisters.

It's a sleepover that never ends.

9. Someone has asked you to pray and it caught you off guard.

It's okay. We have our moments.

8. One of your sisters has dropped some truth and you had to wave the spirit around.

Our sisters are passionate about Jesus and sometimes, things get deep. You gotta just give Him the praise.

7. Your sisters are always there to console you.

Bad day? Bad week? Don't worry. Your sisters will always be there to lift you up, make you laugh and remember that you are loved.

Even if you're not so good at consoling.

6. You know which car is a fellow sister by their monogram and SAO decal. Then, you try to lean in to figure out who it is.

I see you.

5. You freaked out when one of your sisters got engaged.

It's a momentous occasion but nothing quite seals the deal like a Facebook post stating your engagement.

But then you realize you're still single.

4. It probably took you a while to memorize the verse and song at the end of chapter.

You may have tripped over the words a little bit but now you can recite in your sleep. I am an S -, I am an S - I . . .

3. We don't clap. We snap.

Agree with something? Snaps. Girl just said something profound? Snaps. Did Kate upload pics on the sister website? Snaps. Snaps for you, girl.

2. You're part of an eclectic bunch.

There's tall girls, short girls, Disney girls, Sherlockian girls, Whovian girls, quiet girls, loud girls, funny girls, quirky girls. Let's face it. None of us are "regular" girls.

1. And finally, we love each other.

Because He loved us first. We're set apart and connected through Christ, that's why. Through our hugs, and laughs, and family, we love each other well. And maybe that's what makes us who we are. That's what makes us SAO.
