9 Of The Weirdest Things Lost (& Found) At Oktoberfest

With all that lovely beer sloshing around, you're bound to lose more than just your inhibitions (& dignity) but, whilst lots of keys & IDs are lost, some people manage to outshine all others in their stupidity. Here's 9 of the oddest things that have turned up at the official Oktoberfest lost & found office.

1. Cat Carrier

This year's oddest item to turn up in the Oktoberfest Lost & Found? A cat carrier. No one knows whether kitty & owner enjoyed their time at Oktoberfest, but we hope they both (well, the cat at least) got home safely.

2. Ball and Chain

Wallet: check. Keys: check. Ball and chain...? Why someone decided to take a heavy, metal ball and chain to a beer festival is a mystery, however it did amuse the lads at lost property.

3. x4 Bayern Munich Tickets

Oh dear, oh dear. Not only did this unlucky Oktoberfest-goer lose 4 tickets to see champion side Bayern Munich play, it looks as though they may have lost their 3 friends & fellow Munich fans, too.

4. Bayern Munich Gnome

Sticking with the football theme, last year saw the loss of a Bayern Munich gnome. We like to think Gnomey & pals had such a great day at the Oktoberfest, they just couldn't go back to the dull life of sitting by a garden pond.

5. Signed Playboy Magazine

When drinking at a beer festival, there's nothing better than showing off signed Playboy magazines, am I right? Well that's just what happened when this little beauty turned up in 2012.

6. An 8cm Long Living Grasshopper

7. A Court Order

Hundreds of ID cards & passports turn up every year in the lost & found, however, to date, there's only been one person stupid enough to lose their court order. Well said, Judy.

8. A Fishing Rod

You might not know this, but Munich is surrounded by beautiful, tranquil lakes, which is why we like to think that this lowly fisherman just got a little waylaid on his way to an afternoon at the 'See'.

9. A Dachshund Called 'Wasti'

We started with cats, so we'll end with dogs - this little chap named 'Wasti' was promised a day of specially brewed beer & fairground rides, all he got was an evening in the lost property office. Well, you can't win them all.
