      Defending outrage towards an advertisement, regardless of the sort [Ie: moral, sexual, social, etc.], is pointless.  American Apparel is not required to have values. Nor does the company’s success depend on how its advertisements make people feel.  People are responsible for their own subjection to advertisement, and lot of people are under the false notion that mass media is like the sun. Anyone can turn it off with the click of a button. Also, please remember that you probably wouldn’t have seen the advertisement if it had not been presented to you.
