Tentree Has A Great New Video And They'll Plant A Tree For Every Single View

Watch video + buy sweatpants = 11 more trees in the world. Easy.

If you, like me, are a shopping enthusiast, but get an anxiety-induced headache whenever you think about the effects of fast fashion on the environment, then you'll probably be interested in Tentree.

If you haven't heard of them, Tentree is a Canadian apparel brand that makes "earth-first" apparel from eco-friendly materials. What makes them unique is that for every purchase made, they plant ten trees (hence the name).

They've now partnered up with documentary filmmaker and environmental activist, Jack Harries, to put together this video about tree planting. It'll make it even easier for you and I to effect change from home — all you've gotta do is click the link, watch the video, and they'll plant a tree (yes, it's that easy).

In the video "Can Tree Planting Combat Climate Change?", Jack has an eye-opening conversation with the CEO and co-founder of Tentree, Derrick Emsley. The two of them break down the problems we're facing as a planet and discuss how planting trees can make a difference.

Jack and Derrick also touch on interesting points about the eco-clothing industry, including greenwashing and a general lack of transparency about where our money actually goes when we put it into these sustainability initiatives.

Like Jack, you may be wondering just how great tree planting is for the environment and if it's even beneficial. According to Derrick, the answer is yes! Tree planting, when done right, will improve air quality, restore ecosystems, and even create jobs.

Are trees actually that good for the environment?

So, even if you're not in the market for a new wardrobe, you can still play a part in making a difference. All you have to do is peep the video 👀.

Of course, if you are in the mood to do a bit of ~light shopping~, you should definitely amble on over to Tentree's shop. In fact, I just wrote about their limited edition National Geographic collection that celebrates and protects Earth's wildlife.

Tentree's goal is 1 BILLION trees by 2030. You can help 'em reach it (and do a little good) by investing 15 minutes in watching the video and get one more tree in the ground.
