Proof That Black People Are The Best At Christmas Songs

Let's face it--Christmas is pretty white washed (I mean come on why cant Santa be black!) but now It's time to recognize that Black singers (or more specifically black jazz singers) sing the best versions of Christmas songs

1. Santa Baby by Eartha Kitt

By far the best version of Santa Baby sung by the original black diva: Eartha Kitt!

2. Baby It's Cold Outside by Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Jordan

There are many versions out there of this song...from Elf and its wonderful shower acoustics to Lady Gaga's recent randition. None, however, are as spectacular and Christmas-y as this version. Everything from the band to the vocals are perfect.

3. Ella Fitzgerald's entire Christmas album

It's all....wonderful. Spectacular. Ella has a beautiful voice especially in Sleigh Ride and Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas

4. Nat King Cole's entire Christmas album

Every song on here is amazing. Cole has an amazing voice which just makes you want to cuddle up next to a fire. His rendition of God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen on this album is also quite thrilling and could make anyone want to dance around the room powerfully.

5. Louis Armstrong's Album

Louis' voice is beautiful year round, but during the holiday season nothing is more soothing and splendid then his voice on his very own Christmas album.

6. Stevie Wonder's Cover of The Christmas Song

It's no Wonder that Stevie is an amazing black artist. His Christmas album is just as Wonderful as he is (especially his version of The Christmas Song).

7. B.B. King

B.B. King's Merry Christmas Story is slow, smooth, and probably makes your grandmother want to stand up and dance (or at least just mine). Have fun listening to this song and his album as we remember and mourn King's recent passing.
