Blah, blah, blah, something about this post being full of spoilers, blah, blah, blah.
OK, so, *deep breath*, a lot of really hilariously dumb stuff happened during Season 8, Episode 4 of Game of Thrones, but the dumbest thing might have been when Jon straight-up didn't say goodbye to Very Good Boy™ Ghost.
Like, he did the right thing for the well-being of his canine BFF by sending him up north where he'll live a happier life...but all he did for a goodbye was kind of just look at Ghost? And we were all like...wut?
Well, because the internet is rightfully mad about the coldest goodbye known to man and canine, director David Nutter decided to explain why that scene was the way it was:
"Since the direwolves are kind of CG creations, we felt it best to keep it as simple as possible,” Nutter told Huffington Post. “Keeping Ghost off to the side, I thought that played out better. ... Then [Jon] just walks off by himself, he turns to Ghost and has this moment with Ghost that I thought was very, very powerful."
