The One Thing You Missed In 30 Rock That Changes Everything

    Two worlds of television collide

My day started out like any other lazy summer day for a 19-year-old girl who just finished her first year of undergrad. I woke up in my own bed at noon without fear of the chronic back pain that stems from night after night of sleeping on a college dorm mattress. I then opened up my laptop to continue my journey of rewatching 30 Rock for the 12th time all the way through. I found myself on season 5 episode 2 called "When It Rains It Pours", an episode where Liz Lemon gets hit on by a construction worker, as well as dozens of other men.

Now, let me explain something that is vital to my personality. I take great pride in my ability to identify actors from their other appearances in movies or TV shows. Nothing brings me more satisfaction than opening up IMDB with full confidence that my suspisions were correct: that one guy who works on SNL was indeed the star of Disney Channel's Original Movie Stuck in the Suburbs.

Another element we must consider is that Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt Season 2 recently premiered on Netflix, created by Tina Fey, who also created 30 Rock. Season 2 of UKS contains a plotline where Titus, roommate of the main character, Kimmy Schmidt, meets his first serious boyfriend, a construction worker named Mikey who has only recently admitted to himself his true sexuality.

If you are anything like me, the wheels are starting to turn in your brain, and you are getting excited that your instinct might just be the truth. And if you are thinking this, you are correct.

You guessed it, the same construction worker from 30 rock is Mikey, only 5 years younger, still hitting on women endlessly before he meets Titus.

    MIND. BLOWN.

    You are welcome.
